Excellent product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried multiple products to include the Basis Peak, Fitbit Charge HR, Pebble Steel, and now the Microsoft Band. My initial thought, after unboxing the Band, was "wow, this thing looks clunky". However, after using it for a few days I have realized that this product is no different in size and feel that my Citizen Eco Drive Night Hawk. Plus, I have thicker wrists which minimizes the heft of the product. However, after wearing the product I have discovered my affinity for the band because, as opposed to the other products, I genuinely feel that this product has the capacity to change my life for the better and to increase my overall health and well-being. This is what I was looking for in the other products, that I was initially holding out for with the Apple Watch, that I found with this one. No, I cannot send texts or talk through my wrists, but that's not what functionalities I was looking for. I wanted a life-changer, and for 200 bucks this definitely fits the bill.

Good smart watch/fitness track
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this for a week now. Had a Polar Loop before that keep having issue with the phone app and syncing. Would not buy Polar again. The Band has been doing a great job. I find it to be like wearing my old loop, it has been easy to adjusted to this device. Only wish the screen was curved, the flat screen is the only issue if with the design. Still trying to determine which way to wear to get the best heart rate when walking or in the gym. It is must comfortable with the face on the back of the wrists, but is still very usable with the face on the top of the wrist.

One of the best on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been an UP band user (UP and UP24) for years. Love the UP bands but they needed to be replaced several times because they just died. Instead of going for the UP3, I accidently came across the MS Band. Did my research and decided to try it out and don't regret it at all. The MS Health app is just as good as the UP app and its only going to get better. The only issue I have is, right now, is having synching issues with MapMyRide but MS is working on it. The platform itself is relatively new so there's going to be some things to work out like any other new thing that pops out. The band itself is comfortable to wear. Yes its bulky as many of stated but for myself I like bulkiness as I like big watches, but even then this isn't as bulky compared to bulky watches. Touchscreen is very responsive and easy to get to the menus. I do find the step count and HRM to be very accurate. Unlike the UP bands where it'll count arm swings as steps, I don't find the MS Band doing that. The built-in GPS is an added bonus for my runs and bike rides. Overall I recommend! MS is updating firmware and the app periodically so this is only going to get better. Can't wait for Band 2 if one is in the works.

Fitness Band with some Smartwatch Mixed In
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I do not own a Microsoft phone - I have an iPhone 6. It worked very well for fitness, not so much for smartwatch stuff like texts and calls. Great price for a great fitness band with some smart capabilities.

Almost perfect!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is most likely the best available health band available. It does the health and fitness tracking other bands do, including sleep tracking and a heart rate monitor. But, it does far more as well! I get Facebook and Twitter notifications, weather, news and it connects to MyFitnessPal and my RunKeeper apps! One of the best features of this band though is with the text messaging integration. I am able to read messages sent to me, and I also can respond by using an on screen keyboard or by using the built in speech to text feature! The ability to respond by speech is one of the best features of this band!

Very good if you like Microsoft.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing device very impressed with it. I love everything about it and I got it only for a 100$ on sale at best buy. I love how comfortable it is how light it is and the screen. The one bad thing about this device is that cortana does not work with Android and ios which is a very big minus and takes away one of the biggest plus of Microsoft. But other than that one thing this band is amazing.

One of the best activity trackers out there.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MS Band is for sure one of the best trackers out there! A superbly well designed piece of hardware, it has features up the wazoo! From very accurate heart rate & GPS tracking to the very nice full color and customizable display to the well thought out integration with your phone this device is nothing but class. The Band wears a little big but it's something you'll get used to very quickly and won't mind having on your wrist. Overall I'd say this is a great buy, not everyday you come across something this feature packed for a very good price!

A lot of features for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it comes to value, you can't beat this. This makes Fitbit and Apple seem way over priced. This has a heart monitor like all the others. But to have a GPS tracker at this price is pretty good. This makes it so you don't have to bring your phone for when you run or ride. I prefer to bring my ipod for music as it's a lot less bulkier. It's also splash resistant. They don't recommend dipping it under water because of the microphone, which only works with Cortana on Windows phones (too bad). It's a little bulkier than the Fitbit but once it's on it doesn't bother me at all even if I have the large one. It'd be better if they had more colors. The styling is very bland. The display is easy to read and has adjustable brightness. It even has a UV sensor. It has activities for exercising, walking, running, and even golfing (which I haven't tried yet). I like that the background color is adjustable but it has to be done through the app (which works equally well between my iphone and ipad). I switched from the Fitbit, that I paid more for, for this. The Fitbit's battery did last longer but didn't have as much features.

It was not for me.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this band with lots of expectation... Some of those were not the best. This is a complicated device, period! I called microsoft a tons of time they were trying and trying and trying to help but the goal was never reached. The band does not receive the messages on time, it was hard to connect, battery drained fasts as speeding bullet. Well , I ended up returning it. Maybe my case is just an isolated one... But as for me , this is not a good device. And i must mention I was using a windows phone.

Happy to find one in a store near me!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been following the review and information from https://www.thurrott.com/mobile/microsoft-band and find this product is for me. I have found this to be nearly the only smart watch/Heart Rate monitor that is compatible with Microsoft's Windows OS phone. I have had a Fitbit for several months which does not do heart rate monitoring, the band on the Fitbit has broken and so I was forced to either spend 30+ for a new band set, move to a fitbit HR+ (Never in stock in Large# or move up in product #Also never in stock in Large.) I have an exceptionally large wrist so I had to find somewhere that had one, I ended up having to have a salesman do a search to find the closest store, so I drove 30 minutes away to get the Large model which only had 1 in stock. I am enjoying the product and its plethora of options, especially since I am a geeky type.

Good at most, great at none
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like it, don't get me wrong. The bads - bulky, can't reply to text, phone, email, etc. goods - just about everything else. Like the fact that I can change the display colors, get my Cleveland Browns app (more coming too), previews of text, email, etc., stocks, sleep tracking, pedometer, and the workout plans. I hint this really drains my iPhone battery a lot though as I can't last very long in a single charge now. Constant syncing and stuff like that probably really hurt me.

Best smartwatch on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a windows phone, then this is a must gadget. Can't believe all the features this thing has, and the in depth graphing dashboard is amazing. So much info, especially the sleep is my favorite. Definite for workout junkies.

Band v1 Now Out of Date
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Band v1 is now out of date with a new model out in November 2015. It is not really worth any discounted price. The Microsoft v1 Band is bulky and uncomfortable. While the color screen is nice, the battery only lasts about 2 days if you are active. The automatic sleep detection and Microsoft Health dashboards are half decent.

Disappointed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been wearing just over a month. Nice in what it does in several ways. Room for improvement which MS could easily do but wonder if with band 2 coming out if they will. In less than a month the charging connection (exposed copper contacts under screen) degraded enough I had to clean them with a pencil eraser to have contact to charge. Charge good for 2 days but will be big hassle if I need to clean every few days and who knows if I can continue to clean them that long? A simple flap would prevent that. To be fair I am in FL so probably sweat more than most, been wearing 24/ 7 with the exception of showering. One minor improvement that would help alot would be the option to turn watch function (time display with low light) on and off with the 2ndary button. Current firmware requires 4 steps to change each way.

Didn't last 28 days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything was great, heart rate monitor and notifications. However, the screen went dead after 28 days. Used it most for cycling. Wanted the heart rate monitor and ability to see who was calling without looking at the phone. Worked great until the screen died. Probably needs to be more water resistant.

This Band needs Aid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me start off by saying that I was very excited about this fitness band/smart wearable technology. All the reviews that I read were Good to Excellent, but I really couldn't say how accurate they were. The Few things that I needed the band to do, did not live up to the hype, nor my expectations. I needed this to keep accurate count of steps, heart rate, and mileage. On all three counts the band failed. My steps, after walking approximately 5 miles (Drove the route previously) measured 12 steps on 1 day and 53 on the second day I used it. My resting heart rate was measured at 75 bpm. This also fell short on the two days I used it. My resting heart rate, measured by my wife was 61 bpm. I was walking, and watched as my heart rate of 75 bpm neither increased, nor decreased. Finally, the mileage was not accurate, according to my Fitbit one. Fitbit one measured 4.9 miles on the route, whereas the MS band measured only 2.3 miles. I cannot leave you without sharing some positives. First the MS Band, for me, was not nearly as bulky as the Fitbit Surge, and was similar in size to the Polar Loop or Garmin Vivofit. The display was vivid and very easy to customize. The mail and messaging were accurate, and the MS band will allow you to read all of the message text or e-mail through scrolling. I hope this allows you to make an informed decision about this band, but please remember, this was my experience with the MS band. I will be returning the band to get the Fitbit Charge HR.
