Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the sleep tracking, notifications, price, GPS, and ease of use of the Band Smartwatch (Small). They find the sleep tracking to be a bonus feature, appreciate receiving notifications for calls, emails, texts, and Facebook messages, and consider the price to be reasonable for the features offered. The built-in GPS is also well-received, and many users find the watch easy to use. However, customers have concerns about the battery life, durability, size, design, and comfort of the watch. The battery life is seen as rather short, and some users have experienced issues with the watch falling apart after a few months of use. The size and design of the watch are also mentioned as drawbacks, with some users finding it bulky and uncomfortable, especially on skinny wrists.

    Awesome Sport Device

I was first one the fence about purchasing this, after I did I couldn't be happier. I've been an Apple person for many years and after getting this band I have been considering getting a windows phone with Cortana, I'm really interested in seeing how the two mash up. With a windows phone you can reply back to texts and take calls directly through the band. On top of that you can further set appointment dates for important meetings. It basically becomes your secretary. This is just on the smart watch side. There are tons of other fitness applications for it. track your run or bike ride, keep pace with your heart beat. You can also download work outs directly to the band if you're not into the gym scene.

It tracks, and I'm not even aware of the Band

After several weeks of researching available fitness tracking (watch) options, and three visits to the store for hands on, I chose the Microsoft Band. It exceeds my expectations. After 2 days I cannot tell I'm wearing it. Tip: Purchase a screen protector, and if purchased from a store, have them apply right then. Set up is extremely easy and syncing flawless. I have an iPhone 6+ (always latest update). The guided exercise is terrific. The app (or online view) is also a daily picture of when I last worked out and what I did for health. Very helpful as a gentle reminder if life takes a turn and I want to delay, skip moving. Choosing the tiles I want such as incoming calls, texts and notifications keep me aware should I need to grab my phone, otherwise I simply glance and keep focused on my task at hand. The calibration of calories burned and continuous heart monitoring is beneficial as I transform my habits into healthier actions. The GPS option, only turn on as needed, is excellent to have on my wrist and see my exact distance. The soft nudge of the alarm is a nice feature also. I haven't worn a watch in decades, and having the time feature has been nice since I don't need my phone near. A bonus was the sleep tracking. This was a surprise, and enlightening on how I am actually sleep deprived. It also pointed out that when I sleep alone, verses with my husband, I sleep much better, almost double the deep sleep as a single in our guest bed. I am grateful for this smart, fitness watch tracker. I am in my 50s and I am 100% delighted with the Band.

Strap broke within 6 months with light use, no heavy workouts and microsoft refused to cover under warranty. After several attempts they tried to sell me another one at more than I paid for the first one.

This works great with my Nokia windows phone. It also syncs with myfitnesspal and mapmyfitness. There are rare hiccups on syncing with updates but resolves quickly. Band itself always gives info on demand, texts, calls, Facebook messenger, aside from steps, heart rate, calories burned and more. It even tracks sleep. It really helps keep me up to speed on my fitness. Worth the money.

Great So Far! Great Start for the Band!

I've only had this about a week, but I like it so far! It works great with my android phone and apps. The gps is very accurate! It syncs with MapMyFitness and MyFitnesPal apps and having the built in heart rate monitor is so nice, because I won't wear one of the bands (they're just not cool for women!# The sleep monitor is a nice feature, too. I like the access to guided workout plans, but this feature needs more development and flexibility to be really useful. Being able to see incoming email/ texts/ calls on the go and respond with a pre-programmed text, without pulling out my phone is nice. ;) The Downside: Its not waterproof or water resistant to X feet - only sweat resistant, so no swimming or showering with this band. Its NOT comfortable to try to wear it on the outside of your wrist for very long. Its not terribly flexible and the way its curved, it fits better on the inside. The case and screen scratch ridiculously easily! -which I think is a design flaw considering how the device is designed to be worn. #fortunately there are ArmorSuit protectors already on the market and they work great.) It would be nice if it worked with wifi or data and not just bluetooth. Having some sort of voice input and the ability to stream music would be nice, too...but then I wouldn't need my phone at all!

    Best Fitness Band/Smartwatch Available

The Band is great for fitness fanatics. Most accurate device I have used for tracking your heart rate during work outs. Notifications on your wrist are a plus (texts, emails, calls, and general notifications). I have used it for 10 months with no problems and am looking forward to upgrading to the Band 2 when it is released! Just remember to get the screen protector for it and charge it at least 30 minutes every day to keep the battery going. Definitely a must buy when it's on sale! Best part: it works on Windows Phones, Androids, and iPhones!

I bought the watch as a birthday gift for my wife and she loves it. No problems at all. She loves getting the notifications like text to her wrist while at work. The pair was a little buggy with the iphone 6 but i figured it out after just restarting the iphone so the bluetooth could pair.

Love the Microsoft Band. It has sensors for everything from heart rate to skin temperature to uv light. It currently tracks running, cycling, sleep and other exercise. GPS is very accurate. It vibrates for various types of phone notifications. It also has guided workouts. The user interface is very intuitive. It works with Windows, Android and iPhone. The hardware Microsoft has packed into this thing give it amazing potential.

    Awesome functionality, uncomfortable

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The original Band has a ton of functionality - built in GPS, ability to respond to texts, notifications, and Cortana support (on Windows). However, the whole thing is really uncomfortable to wear. If you have a Windows Phone, it really is your best bet smartwatch wise, but if you are on other platforms, I'd avoid it.

    Buy ANY Other Fitness Band

Bought this band in April 2015. Battery covers started breaking off and inside of band is peeling. Sent it back and Microsoft claims it isn't covered under warranty. A fitness band should last longer than 7 months at the original price of $200. STEER CLEAR OF MICROSOFT

This is a great smart watch...it has many features for keeping track of your health and it also notifies you of incoming texts, emails, calls, Facebook messages, etc. You can even use it to pay at Starbucks if you so desire. It has many apps that you can add to it for your convenience.

    Died twice on me

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I wanted to love the microsoft band but after about three weeks of running, exercising and cycling it just died on me. It would not turn on or anything. I also found the bluetooth pairing was a bit fussy but, after reading other reviews, it looks like the pairing issue is on the iphone's end. Best Buy was great and gave me another microsoft band but the same thing happened, after about three weeks of activity it died again. Again, Best Buy's customer service was excellent and gave me a full store credit and allowed me to pick another fitness tracker. I'm going with the fitbit surge, hoping it will stand up to all of my activity.

    Do not buy!

This was a 2015 gift. You only get a 1 year warranty no matter how many bands break. Sometimes the band will not turn on. You plug in to charge and it says your battery ran out. However, when you have it on the charger it always has battery life. This is one of the top errors. Went thru 3 bands with this error. Another problem is the rubber chips away if you get a band that lasts longer than 4 months. Rubber breaks where it meets the metal. Had to replace 1 do to this issue. The band will also not respond to any buttons or the touch screen sometimes. You have to place on charger to get it to turn back on and then it will work again. Battery life is too short. Might make 12 hours if you use lots of the features. If you charge while sleeping you lose the ability to use the sleep mode tracking app.

I have had this watch for 8 months, I am on my third replacement watch. Microsoft support is horrible, my wife has Garmin watch and my son has Fitbit. Microsoft watch has had the most problems and less than helpful service. I would not waste money on this watch.
