Simple but great when taken care of

They can least over a year or more depending how you take care of it. One thing is, do not pull from the wire when removing from the controller. Pull from the big plastic part gently. If you continue to pull on the wire when removing, then it will be defective sooner rather than later.

After being on the phone with Microsoft for an hour we came to the conclusion that the headphones were faulty. Returned them to get a new pair from the store and those pair did not work either.
