Now I opted to buy for him more sturdy and, obviously, more expensive headset: the $15 I paid for this one are wasted.

Just get that cheap $5 warrantee for a year or two because don't be that guy who doesn't. Any gamer knows these headsets don't last forever whether it's a cord issue or you stepped on it or something. Easy replacement and you're set Incase. But does the job fine when you get it

The original one we purchased was almost a month old and the headpiece snapped. Keeping in mind he is a teen-ager..but I would think it should have lasted longer. Otherwise he says it's great.
