Function keys too small.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Generally all the keys are too close. I have some typing skills but it is hard to type without looking at the keyboard. Prior reviews mentioned no light for num-lock or caps. I should have realized that this is bothersome as I have to type a number and see if it moves

Dropped keystrokes. Don't buy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would love this keyboard if it actually registered every keystroke. It doesn't. At its worst, it drops every other letter. I work from home which requires a lot of typing on my computer and this keyboard definitely has an adverse effect on my productivity. Having to constantly look up and correct what I am typing is very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend it this keyboard.

Wireless range of mouse poor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up the desktop keyboard and mouse. The computer tower is next to my right leg as I sit, but the mouse does not work on the desk top. It must be moved into the desk drawer next to the keyboard to do so. The Microsoft 1000 mouse is worthless, range limited. My old Microsoft 3500 mouse works perfectly on the desktop. I now know why this Wireless 850 Desktop and mouse is on sale.

Defective out of the box.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft Wireless 850 Desktop I am running Windows 10 and the product states the system requirements Windows 10/ 8/ 7. Out of the box both the keyboard and mouse operate erratically, keyboard skips key punches, keyboard enter tab works intermittently and mouse works erratically. Attempted several fixes, changed USB ports, operated keyboard and mouse separately, used mouse with and without a mouse pad, nothing changed or helped. What is interesting, just two days ago I purchased this from a Best Buy circular ad and web page as a “Microsoft Wireless Desktop 850”, todays web page shows the product to be a “Microsoft Wireless Desktop 5050, same SKU 4533300 number, however the product on the bar code area tag box lists Model No: 1455, 1454, 1461. This is advertised as a new product? I do not fault Best Buy for the defective Microsoft product but I am disappointed that Microsoft would put out such a cheap made product, in years past they were always top of the line products. This is advertised as a new product and I would think that they would have better Quality control, could be just this product I purchased, but I doubt it. I will be returning the product back to the store.

Just don't!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Forced to use stars, but I give it none. No CAPS LOCK light, no NUMBERS LOCK light. Really? It's junk, and I got what I paid for.

Was great for a week or two.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked Great for a few weeks. Then the mouse started lagging really bad and needed a restart every few minutes to reset itself. Around the same time the keyboard would just stop responding. I'd be typing along and suddenly the characters would stop appearing on the screen. Uninstalled/Reinstalled with the same results. Terrible experience with this Microsoft product. Less than two months old and no longer returnable to the store. Hopefully Microsoft will stand behind their product. Best Buy sure won't.

Looks great, but poor performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this for our conference room and found that performance degrades beyond 10ft from the PC. Even at 10ft the mouse and keyboard both have significant lag. This might be good for a typical desk set-up, but I doubt it and will be returning it.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always liked Microsoft's keyboards, but this one is an exception. When receiver was in the PC's back usb port (kind of blocked by PC body) it worked absolutely terribly. Moving receiver to the front usb port (which is not very convenient, I would like to keep it available for different needs) improves, but still there are skipped keystrokes once in a while. Mouse is even worse, uneven and jumpy cursor movements.

Not worth 2.99
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used way more keyboards than I can remember in my time and this is by far the worst I have ever used. Brand new batteries. Keys don't work (mostly the shift button) wont stay on number lock. You will be typing away just to look up and see that it quit typing anything. A week old and into the trash it went. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

Keyboard good, mouse bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard works just fine on my Dell XPS, but the mouse is so herky-jerky that I'm taking it back to BB.

Cheap
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried this product for business with both a desktop PC and a Surface Pro. The keyboard feels cheap, and the mouse has no real adjustment, at least in my experience with Windows 10. Store wouldn't take it back but threw it in their garbage and bought a Logitech combo. Much happier with this equipment.

Pathetic!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design of the keyboard is so weird that it's difficult to type and seems its little bit curved. . Also, the mouse feels very uncomfortable to hold I have been using logitech KB/Mouse , and decided to try different one this time but not worth it. Returning today.

Did not work well with my computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mouse and keyboard had significant latency issues that made them unworkable on my computer. To be fair, the keyboard and mouse that came with the computer had the same issue. Only a much more expensive keyboard/mouse combination solved the problem.

Missing mouse and USB driver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased it today because I wanted both the keyboard and mouse. When I opened the box, there was a keyboard only. No mouse and no USB driver to connect.
