So I purchased the Elite Series 2 controller, last year when it first came out, I actually swapped it for my original Elite controller (I had gone through a few of those as the rubber on the back came off them easily but that's another story). I was taken aback by the fact that the controller has a built-in battery. This is good in theory but the long term ramification is that eventually, the battery won't hold a charge as long as it once did, and eventually, it won't hold a charge at all. This is problematic since you have no way of swapping the battery out as you could in any other controller. But, the reason I'm writing this review now is that I'm having an issue that so many other people are having, my Series 2 is starting to have button response issues. More specifically the right bumper is barely registering my pressing it and sometimes doesn't seem to acknowledge it at all. I have an extended warranty with Best Buy but they are unable to replace it due to the fact that they don't have anymore. They suggested that I contact Microsoft about replacing the controller, but with a mere 90-day limited warranty, that ensures that by the time most people have issues like mine, they will be well outside of the manufacturer's warranty period. It's a real shame because the controller when it works is pretty good, the weight is satisfying and when everything works it's a very responsive controller. But I can't recommend the controller knowing that it probably won't even make it a full year with standard use.

For an OEM controller, its great. Durability and longevity really depends on your use. Make sure to get the 2 year extended warranty from Microsoft only. You can buy paddles for cheaper third party

Instantly you feel the qaulity of this controller! The response on this compared to the regular ones is insane! I noticed just playing NHL22 the response.. Great options as you can have 3 profiles and then the default one. The triggers are awesome! You can customize your sensitivity and comes with a carry case as it should for $180 which is the only CON about this as no controller should cost that.. Now i always wanted this but never wanted to spend the money but the wifey got this as an Xmas gift :) So if you have the money to spend go for it... now probably get the 2 year warranty next week as she didn't buy it but based off my experience on regular controllers might just do so since this is a high end controller...Impressive upgrade from the last one! For the most part has worked exceptionally well since it was purchased. As of right now, a couple of the buttons are getting sticky like something is in them, but I've been careful about keeping it clean so I'm not sure why. Other than that, it's been a great purchase and would recommend / buy another if I need it to.

Definitely worth the upgrade if you are playing FPS titles. Quality is top tier, however the grips are still not the best. Microsoft should take a look at using similar material that is used on the Scuff controllers.

I had my doubts with this controller seeing how many people had an issue with the previous model. Everything has held up well. I would give it a 5 star if it wasn't for having to adjust everything from a memu. Compared to other cheaper controllers that you can program the padels on the fly... mid game.

Its perfect when it comes to performance, the only thing i dont like is that it did come with a case and extra parts like the gen 1 had... other wise its perfect

The controller was excellent the buttons were nice and clicked very easy to use on shooting games 10 out of 10 would recommend this controller but a little pricey.

Overall decent feel, takes some getting used to. Great mapping and good feel in the hands. I still think the joysticks are a bit odd but I’m used to it and happy with the added triggers

Great remote this one is actually worth the money. I’m going to go buy one more even though my warranty was accidentally cancelled. it’s all good because if I hadn’t dropped it Hella hard running to get the dog trying to get my food I’d still be gaming still. Even After drop still no stick drift only issue was lt trigger damage won’t work on tier 3 sensitivity still works not perfect. I don’t know the difference from this and the core but I know I like this specific remote please keep this one in stock Best Buy

Amazing Controller feel and grip. Has a 3 step Variable trigger throw for ease of use and sub-second timing for where it counts. Wireless and Wired, comes with a cery nice controller color matched cable. This is just an awesome controller all around. REMEMBER buying this controller only is the controller itself. The paddles, different height thumbsticks, and D-pad change outs ARE NOT INCLUDED. So after purchasing i highly recommend buying a elite controller kit online. Found one that was a perfect paint match for the red controller.

My son in law loves it. The separate case that it sits in charges the controller and it has different knobs and buttons to change out.

Great for a replacement controller instead of having to shell out $200 for a brand new elite.

These are great controllers. The battery life is awesome, i do get about 40hrs of play time if not a little more. I like the customization of the controller, fully mapping buttons yo my preference and has also definitely made my gaming experience much better. The only con to this controller is the price but they last do much longer. I currently have 3 of them, 1 for each of my consoles and my oldest one is around 5-6 years old and still no issues. I woulf definitely recommend even if have to save up a little longer for it.
