Great controller, but insurance is necessary.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quality of the gamepad is unbeatable. So unbeatable that I’ve opted to replace 3 different ones now (buying the insurance each time) because the button receivers on these eventually go bad. My first one lasted me around 8 months before the RB receiver went bad and started failing intermittently. Second one lasted me about 8 months before a faulty LB receiver went bad and it had to be replaced. My third one lasted around 6 months before the left stick button’s receiver went bad and had to be replaced. Overall - awesome controller and I refuse to use any other game pad… just make sure you buy the insurance. Hopefully a series 3 will bring receivers that last the long haul a bit better.

Worth it in my experience
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While there may be some questions about the price of this item, there are a few things that warrant consideration. One of the main reasons I chose this item (along with the obvious controller itself) is because I wanted a case for my controller as well. The controller itself is an improvement over the regular Xbox model, with the addition of the back paddles, but also has a built in rechargeable battery and 2 additional pairs of thumbstick options to swap out. Add all those accessories up and the price may still be a bit on the high side, but I find it worth it. Bottom line, it won't make you a better gamer, but it DID improve MY game with the longer right thumb stick and easier back paddles for some games, and I like that I can leave this in the case and plug the charging cable directly in without unzipping it. I am more than happy with this.

Good Controller, Could Be Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily the best controller for more competitive gamers. I purchased the Scuf before this, and was quite disappointed after the left joystick started sticking (not drift, just stuck in the down position) within 3 months of purchase. It was also a bit of a pain (and limited) to program the pads. Then I purchased the Elite S2, and what a difference it made. The magnetic, interchangeable joysticks are a breeze to swap (have to take the whole faceplate off the Scuf). The rear pads are programmable through the Xbox UI, offer more combinations to progrsm, and can save up to three independent configurations for different games or styles (a button on the controller lets you flip between the three without having to go through the UI). And the trigger adjustments are quick and easy to adjust on the fly. My only issue with this controller is stick drift, hence the markdown. While it did hold up well for 10-11 months, I had to send it in to Microsoft for a replacement at the 11th month (Best Buy didn't have any at the time). I did get a replacement after a little over a week, but it was equally bad, if not worse within two weeks. Fortunately, Best Buy had a resupply and I was able to get a new one. A near $200 controller should not fail like that in less than a year. I get that nothing lasts forever, but the gimbles should be better quality for a premium controller. That said, the S2 is worth the purchase if you are into more competitive gaming, however, buy the extended warranty. Will definitely be worth it in the long run.

Amazing Controller
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 is a premium gaming accessory that delivers both in terms of performance and customization. With adjustable-tension thumbsticks, interchangeable components, and a suite of customizable profiles, it offers a high level of personalization to suit various play styles. The build quality is robust, featuring a textured grip and durable materials that enhance comfort during extended sessions. While it's priced at a premium, its features, including the ability to fine-tune sensitivity and remap buttons, provide a tangible advantage for competitive gamers. Overall, it’s a top-tier choice for serious Xbox enthusiasts looking for precision and adaptability.

Great Controller!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this controller as an avid PS4 controller fan and have to admit this controller exceeded my expectations. I'm very happy with all the features (paddles, joy stick tension adjustment and multiple config button mappings) to name a few. I was still planning to go back to my custom made ps4 controller, but after using this controller for a few days I'm just going to stick the this one. Even bought the 2 year warranty. Hightly recommended for anyone's gaming needs.

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought it was great bought as a open box however I later found out the left analog assembly that is soldered to the board is broke so unless i find another one and manage to solder it to the board successfully it's toast.

Better in most ways, but some trade offs…
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The elite series 2 is better in many ways than the Series 1, but does have some trade offs. You can read about the updates on the Msft website. So I just tell you what the negatives over the series one are. First the battery isn’t replaceable, so ones it’s capacity starts to go down, you’re out of luck. The other difference I’ve found is the textured grips are definitely not as sticky as the series one. Sure the texture looks and feels the same, this feels more like textured plastic than textured rubber. It’s more noticeable the longer you use it.

Nothing else compares
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*Will update this review at 6 months First impression is that nothing else compares. This is my first elite controller and after holding the original xbox controller, the difference is felt right away. I dont own an xbox, so i use this while playing on PC. With that being said, the ability to remap pretty much any button to any function you would normally use on keyboard on to the controller, is phenomenal from a quality of life perspective. Construction is sturdy, and the textured rubber grips that wrap around where you hold gives a next level of comfort. Being able to adjust the tension and force needed to move the joystick is a great feature. The soft-touch face is nice, but i can see this becoming a fingerprint magnet. Buttons are nice and tactile, and all the changeable parts are magnetic so you wont have to worry about snapping anything. A huge plus is the carrying case which doubles as a charging station via usb-c, and a holder for other accessories (the charging dock inside can also be used independently from the case). A few cons, though its a bit nit-picky are the length of the paddles. This isnt too big of a deal, but i had to readjust my grip and how i hold the controller to press the paddles on the back without my fingers interfering one another (i have medium-large hands). A USB dongle to connect the controller to pc is not included and would have to be ordered separately, which can be a con to some. The longevity of this controller is yet to be seen from personal experience, as i have read reviews of this controller being DOA, buttons not working after a few months, or the terrible stick drift. Honestly, i don't see myself buying another controller after this as this is truly the ultimate device for handheld/controller gaming. Is it worth the upgrade from an original controller? For my application, yes! Should you buy it? Depends on what you're looking to do with it.
