Great but they do wear out.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like the classic feel of Xbox controllers with an upgraded feel, then the Elite 2 is for you. Though the warranty plan is recommended as most times these do start wearing out.

Gast and efficient
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best controllers out there. They helped me out and figured out a plan to turn in my old one because it was giving problems at an early stage and we resolved it.

Mostly an Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the first Elite controller before this, and it's a definite 95% upgrade. This controller is great quality, substantial and weighty in a satisfying way, and the customization options work wonders. The main downside is in the comparison to the original model. For whatever reason, Microsoft has decided you only need one long thumbstick and one domed thumbstick — which makes no sense, because there are two thumbsticks on this controller. You have two standard, two "classic" (which are basically identical to the standard), then one long and one domed. I loved the two long thumbsticks on my old Elite controller because they allow for more precise movements and cramp my hands far less... but these thumbsticks are incompatible with the original Elite controller, which can only be a financial decision for Microsoft. That doesn't make sense either, though, because they don't sell additional thumbsticks. I suppose I need to find a friend with one of these who doesn't use the long thumbsticks and trade their long one for my domed one... and that's ridiculous. Additionally, there are reviews online that state some of the A/B/X/Y buttons don't always work. I have this issue too, where my button presses randomly don't work. The buttons are also spongy. This is inexcusable at this price point, from a first-party company... but because of the paddles, I rarely use the buttons anyway so it doesn't break the deal for me. Mapping those buttons to the paddles greatly enhances gameplay (you can leave your right thumb on the thumbstick and still use A/B/X/Y, even multiple simultaneously, and that's a HUGE perk!) so I definitely recommend that. You can remap A/B/X/Y if you want, also, to other functions. Don't neglect the controller configuration app on the Xbox One or Series X|S. That's where you truly maximize this controller, to set up custom travel distances on thumbsticks and triggers and remap controls. You can have three separate profiles on the controller, as well as a default which unfortunately isn't editable. I have mine set up with default, FPS, racing, and RPG settings to maximize experience in different game types I play — this controller is most useful, in my experience, in FPS and racing games. Online FPS games will see substantial benefits for you if you use this controller well, and racing games (I play Forza Motorsport/Horizon games) are much better with this controller set up with paddles and configured travel distances. Honestly, using this controller for online FPS and racing games feels like borderline cheating sometimes. You can jump or crouch while you turn/move/fire, ALL AT ONCE, in an FPS game. In a racing game, you can customize your gas and brake pedals as well as steering. Seriously, this is huge for both genres.

Poor quality materials, will not last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this controller for 3 years give or take. I have never thrown or dropped this controller. I have always kept it in its case, on my desk. It has never traveled or been taken anywhere. It has never had a single drop of liquids touch it. I had to have it replaced twice due to manufacturer defects. I have babied this thing, because I have cancer and cannot work, I cannot afford the astronomical price to replace it. But after hearing the rattle of something small moving around inside the controller for a few weeks, I decided to open it up today. What I found should be an absolute embarrassment for Microsoft. Upon further inspection, it became obvious to me that the plastic that is used to make this controller was deteriorating on its own. The grips were peeling off, several chunks of thin flimsy plastic had somehow broken off on their own on the interior of the controller. Again, this controller has never, not once, absorbed any kind of shock. There has not been a single event or instance that could have caused even a single piece of the controller to break. Yet somehow, there are several broken off pieces and parts. The only conclusion I can come to is that Microsoft uses extremely cheap materials to make them. And for a $200 controller, that is shameful. And with the warranty only being a year, its pretty clear that Microsoft is 100% aware that this controller will not last. And now here I am, clearly a fool for trusting Microsoft to make a quality, top of the line controller. What a huge letdown. When it works correctly, I loved it. But between stick drift and constant bumper issues, along with the very cheap materials used, I cannot recommend this in good conscience. I have a 3rd party Xbox One controller that has seen at least double the use, been dropped, thrown, tossed, had soda, water, coffee, etc. spilled on it (it is used by my kids), and is also 2 years older, that works flawlessly still to this day and cost 1/5 of the price. I feel a bit scammed. This controller has so much potential, if only Microsoft put some care and quality craftmanship into the manufacturing process. Instead, they are trying to fool us into having to buy a new one every year or 2.

A necessity for gamers!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A year later… still world perfectly. Honestly , there isn’t much to say about it. I love it, the settings are saved across the board Whether I’m using the controller for my Xbox, pc or Used for my phone - it saves the settings for all the games I want to use it for under its profile. Super easy to get used to, and feels amazing. 10/10

Great controller, BUT...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller is fantastic in just about every way. Lots of customization and fine tuning. I won’t go into the details, because anyone can research how much you can do with these great controllers. This controller is weighty, compared to the Xbox elite one, it feels about 50% heavier. I like it and have no issues, it makes it feel sturdy. I have yet to have issues with any rubber coming off like the Xbox elite one, so that is a great improvement too. The bad news is: I have had to replace about 3 of these controllers already! For me, the right bumper keeps becoming sensitive and double pressing. Eventually, it will stop working altogether, especially if you press harder on it. I believe it is a manufacturer defect (happens after a few months of everyday use). I’ve tried cleaning it with some success, but it still comes back. I highly suggest getting the replacement plan if you want to have this controller for a long time. Although I had to buy a second so that I would have no down time in between returning and ordering a new one (they are almost always out of stock at my BB store). TLDR; Buy this controller if you game a lot, but know that the bumpers (or other buttons may fail after a few months). Get the replacement plan option OR use Microsoft’s new 1 year replacement plan and expect to wait about 2 WEEKS to get a new controller. The warranty use to be 90 days, currently it is now 1 year!

Premium controller with issues
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially fell in love with the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller for its premium feel and the added customization options it brought to my gaming experience. The tactile feedback, adjustable thumbstick tension, and extra buttons were all features that greatly enhanced my gameplay, especially in competitive titles. However, my enthusiasm took a hit when I encountered control drift issues. It became increasingly frustrating as the controller started registering movement on its own, affecting my gameplay significantly. This was unexpected and disappointing, especially given the high price point of the controller. Fortunately, the controller was still under warranty, and Microsoft's customer service came through by providing a replacement. It's worth noting that this issue should ideally not have arisen, considering the premium nature of the controller and the fact that the standard controller works reliably. Despite the hiccup, the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, when functioning correctly, offers an exceptional gaming experience. Just be aware of the potential control drift issue and ensure you're covered by warranty in case you encounter it.

Xbox Elite series controller SHINES ABOVE THE REST
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the Xbox elite series controller for about a month now I feel that I can leave a solid and honest review. I have tried and used multiple Xbox controllers that have paddles and are capable of custom button mapping. The xbox app for the Xbox elite series controller allows you to custom map EVERY ASPECT of the controller. So much so that I am able to turn down the responsiveness and speed at which the input for the left and right stick acceleration depending on the parameters that I set. It sets so well and comfortably in my hands. Simply put, it is hands down the best controller i have ever used. Thats including Fusion and Turtle Beach brands. The cost is minimal at best for such a controller in my opinion. I have had to return and exchange numerous controllers that were previously stated. Given the costs (Turtle Beach alone being over $200) of the competitors products and the craftsmanship I had expexted to be set for the foreseeable future, however that was never the case. I have had ZERO issues with my Xbox elite series controller. The battery is PHENOMENAL and the charge time is MINIMAL at best.

Good but not best for competitive gaming
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good but not great. Feels comfy, plays smooth but for whatever reason the overloxking polling rate on xbox controllers are not unlockable to higher rates. Therefore you are stuck with Microsoft stock settings when it comes to input latency. Therefore the PS5 edge has a advantage over this one. Other then that its perfect very easy to use and feels great in your hands.
