Just hold this controller once and you’ll immediately feel it’s worth the money, truly. Everything from the grips, to the weight distribution, to the tactile experience of the buttons, triggers, and paddles, all feel absolutely premium. Regular Xbox one controllers will literally feel like junk in your hands from now on...sorry. Of course their are numerous ways to customize it. The brilliant magnet design allows attachments like the joysticks to come off like a dream yet stay firmly attached during aggressive use. The ability to literally dial in the joystick resistance, with the included tool, is just wonderful. I have even removed a joystick and changed the related tension mid-game it’s so easy! The different heights and designs of the joysticks all have real purpose and are genuinely appreciated in various scenarios. So is the changeable distance on the triggers...game changer. Then there’s the software. I have had many controllers that were customize-able with paddles (Think PDP etc). No software is more functional, efficient or effective than Microsoft’s own proprietary accessories app. Changes can be made easily, by almost any age group, and make gaming that much more immersive. Some say that owning this controller won’t make you better but it may make gaming more fun. I think they’re wrong. I think it does both. You ABSOLUTELY DO get a performance boost from higher quality instruments. Otherwise LeBron James would wear slides and Yo-yo Ma would play a washtub bass. Just get this thing so I can stop mixing metaphors- it’s expensive but you’re worth it...and so is this wonderful controller! Happy Gaming! Stay safe - Be kind

You just have to get this. Grips are good and help for long-term play with feel and sweaty hands. Triggers add to your options and how you play with three selectable configurations (+default) that you can customize via the Xbox accessories (computer) app. Just the fact that you can customize how all the buttons are configured for multiple setups makes this worth the money. I originally got this thinking that I needed it for teh directional pad that can be replaced with the concave pad (which is more comfortable). I was surprised to discover myself playing with the left directional stick that I had caused me to get the Elite2 -- the new adjustability allowed me to set it up the tension the way I wanted for games. Even SFV use felt good and more predictable that I could honestly play that as well as the concave directional. I think if the retail was $149 instead of $199 (or $179 on sale) this would probably be more palatable though.

i cannot stress enough get the protection, rather the total plan or the one off 2 year protection plan. both this and the Sony elite controllers will break in less than three months, this is coming from a moderate player who only plays weekends and a little in the week. if you are a heavy gamer do not cheat yourself. in terms of the actual feel and features its amazing just built with no durability.

Great controller all around - grippy texture, mappable buttons and paddles - and I always like using the long thumb stick on the left side and shorter one on the right

Amazing controller. What a difference. The weight and balance is night and day compared to a stock controller. The ability to fine tune the tension of the toggles is amazing. Any serious gamer should own one.

the paddles are really nice to keep action on right thumbstick. only reason one less star is the controller is too small. since the original xbox I have not found a controller that fits in my large hands. controller is very solid and customizable.

After months of use I would say that was disappointing a little for the price. I only bought this when I had extra cash and wanted to test a "premium" controller. Control response time was really good, the case is good, alongside the ability to customize anything about the controller. However where it fails is the extra paddles of the controller and even if it's removable. It kinda leaves opening in the back of your controller. Leaving it exposed to dirt and oils from your hands. For people who grew up in the old Xbox era controllers the paddles get in the way more than an added benefit. Otherwise good controller but just a preference issue.

This is the second Elite 2 we have purchased. Let me clarify, this is the second one in addition to one already in the household. After purchasing a series X several months ago, my wife got addicted to Fall Guys and a couple other games. One night after I was done playing, I forgot to move mine back to the computer and she started using it, then flat asked me why I bought the good one for myself and left her with the stock Xbox controller. Mind you that I already had one for over a year for PC use. So, after my positive time with one, I decided to get her one too. This controller is amazing and by far the most customizable "pro" controller software wise you can get. While some complain about button issues, I have never encountered this on any that weren't from a resin issue (I mod controllers on the side and this is the most common reason for issues. The resin mold sometimes has excess on it and leaves dust from usage, preventing a click from the A button, and LB/RB. A simple cleaning restores full functionality 99% of the time). Can't wait for the new one from MS coming soon.

I upgraded from my original elite controller to this one mainly because the grips on them were starting to fall apart. This controller is a bit heavier which in turn makes it feel nicer in your hands. This time around you won’t need a rechargeable battery pack as it’s all built into the controller and comes with a charging dock to lay on when not in use. My only concern with the controller is the fact that instead of having rubber grips on just the back side of the lower left/right controller like the previous model, it now has that rubberized grip texture on the front and the back. Although it feels great, I wonder how durable it will be. Hopefully they don’t start falling apart like the previous generation model. You may ask, is the controller worth it? If you’ll actually use it’s functions, swap out thumb sticks and would like full customization such as button mapping through the Xbox accessory app then I’d say, absolutely. I personally enjoy the feel, the trigger locks and customization options. I remapped my “Y” button to one of the four paddle triggers behind the controller which is super beneficial when playing certain games. My thumb can stay on a certain button on the front (X for example) while I can use another finger to control the paddle in the rear which I re-mapped to my “Y” button at the same time. You can also adjust tension to your thumb sticks which is a welcome addition as well. Overall, great product so far and definitely enjoy using it more than the standard controller. I highly recommend! Now, it’s up to you. Will you decide to get your hands on one of these?
