Great Controller With Unfortunate Quality Issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a complicated relationship with Microsoft's Elite controllers. On the one hand, I love how solid they feel, all of the replaceable parts and customized settings. They feel like the last controllers you'll ever need to buy, which would hold true if they didn't have so many quality issues. Despite all the problems I've had I do still love this controller, but I'd recommend getting the Geek Squad protection if you're thinking about it, which offers a little more peace of mind than Microsoft's paltry 90-day warranty. The packaging for the Series 2 controller is excellent. The charging base can be used to charge the controller inside the case, but can also be removed and put somewhere else. You get a couple thumb stick options, a thumb stick tension tool, a swap-able D-pad, spots to store the paddles, and a nice braided USB-C to USB-A cable for charging. It all fits very nicely inside the case, though I feel like the upper mesh compartment that stores the cable could be a little bit bigger; when the cable is in the case it feels like it's pushing down on the sticks in a way I worry could cause issues. Overall great package though. The controller itself feels super solid and is really comfortable to hold. It's the primary reason I purchased it in the first place and I don't even really get into the customization options that much. It feels like it's just the right weight. I'm not a huge fan of the paddles and more often than not was pressing them accidentally, but they're easily removed. The stick tension can be adjusted with the included tool, but it's again something I left alone as I don't miss the 360 stick tension like some others do. There are also 3 levels of adjustment for the triggers if you want shorter travel on those. It truly does feel like what it costs when you hold it. The app for customizing everything is intuitive and easy to use on both Xbox and PC, though again my desire was never really for customization and I just wanted a nice controller, so I can't comment too much on it. You can set up 3 unique profiles on the controller (4 if you include the default configuration with no profile set) and pressing the middle button is all you need to do to switch between them. It opens up possibilities even within the same game where you may prefer a different layout/setting for certain activities. Also new to the Series 2 is the addition of a built-in battery and Bluetooth, which are both nice to have. It always struck me as odd with the first one that such an expensive controller would not include a rechargeable battery, so I'm glad they fixed it in Series 2. Now, onto my issues. I owned the original Elite controller and loved it for a while until I started experiencing stick drift. It was outright terrible, but it makes playing games that require extra precision like Celeste pretty much impossible. Unfortunately those issues came into play well after my warranty had expired and I was never quite able to figure out Microsoft's website for getting it repaired. I knew this was a well-known issue, so when they announced the Series 2 I was hopeful that issue would be addressed, but weary of my initial experience I went ahead and bought the Geek Squad protection with the Series 2. It's disappointing that Microsoft doesn't extend the warranty to at least a year for something that requires so much more investment than the standard controllers. Things were fine with my Series 2 for about 5 or 6 months maybe until I started noticing stick drift again on the left stick. It wasn't bad enough that I wanted to use my Geek Squad replacement yet, so I held off on doing anything about it until one of the switches that adjust the triggers broke. Fortunately the process for replacing it through Best Buy was super easy and I received my replacement today. Hopefully this one will work better than the last, but it makes me sad that something that could be so great is still hampered by these issues. I still think this is the best controller you can buy for Xbox and is even one of the best for PC, but it's hard to ignore the issues I've had and I probably wouldn't recommend it to most people. If you don't get any sort of extended warranty plan I would recommend watching yours in those first 90 days to make sure any issues that pop up get fixed before the warranty runs out. Note: I purchased this on its original release date in November and just recently had it replaced.

Great controller, not to many bad things to say
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The grip on the elite 2 is the best grip on a controller someone could ask for, the costumization is unlimited and very easy to set up and use. Obviously over time stick drift happens and one other down side is, the stick and buttons magnets seem to stop working as well, but overal best gaming controller i have used.

Left Stick failed, returned.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Could be a great controller. Mine had an issue where the left stick wouldn't register "up" fully. So I'd push up fully, and the app / game would only see half. This would be fine if this 'modular' controller was easy to open and clean/fix. Instead, it's sealed, so it has to be returned.

Amazing Gaming Controller
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One highly recommended controller is the Xbox Elite Series 2. This controller offers a premium feel and build quality with customizable features that cater to both casual and competitive gamers. The Elite Series 2 has a sleek and ergonomic design, with a textured grip that ensures a comfortable and secure hold during long gaming sessions. The buttons and triggers are highly responsive and provide a satisfying tactile feedback. One of the standout features of the Elite Series 2 is the customizable options it offers. It comes with interchangeable thumbsticks and paddles, allowing users to find the perfect fit and control setup for their preferences. The paddles can be mapped to any button, giving gamers quick and easy access to additional inputs without having to take their fingers off the thumbsticks. The controller also features adjustable tension on the thumbsticks, allowing users to fine-tune the stick resistance for more precise movements. This feature is particularly useful for competitive gamers who require precise aiming in games like first-person shooters. Another great aspect of the Elite Series 2 is its extensive battery life. It can last up to 40 hours on a single charge, and the controller comes with a charging dock that makes recharging hassle-free. Additionally, the Elite Series 2 is compatible with both Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, making it a versatile controller for gamers who play on multiple platforms. Overall, the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller offers a premium gaming experience with its customizable features, comfortable design, and long-lasting battery life. While it is on the pricier side, the build quality and advanced features make it worth the investment for serious gamers.

Best controller ever owned -- and most expensive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this controller, I can't go back to a regular one! The weight, the texture, the feel is just amazing, and the paddles are great. It oozes premium quality... The interchangeable parts are very useful, but I find myself still using thumb joystick extenders. And the battery lasts SO LONG (easily all month with light use). Is it worth the INSANE price though?.... eek, probably not. This is a guilty pleasure, to be sure. There are also major build quality issues with this controller. Both sets I've owned have had issues with the 'A' button not registering unless pressed perfectly head-on. Considering that's your 'jump' button in most games, you can imagine how annoying that can be. There are lots of posts about this on the internet, and advice on how to fix it using tape/etc. Not something you expect to have to do for such a high-priced, premium piece of hardware.

Unleash Your Gaming Potential with the Series 2
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller is a game-changer when it comes to gaming peripherals. As an avid gamer, I've had the pleasure of using various controllers over the years, but this one stands out from the crowd. It's clear that Microsoft has put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into designing a controller that truly enhances the gaming experience. First and foremost, the build quality of the Elite Series 2 Controller is exceptional. It feels sturdy and well-crafted in your hands, providing a premium feel that surpasses most other controllers on the market. The combination of the textured grip and the adjustable tension on the analog sticks adds a level of precision and control that is simply unmatched. Whether you're engaging in intense first-person shooter battles or executing complex maneuvers in a racing game, the controller responds with remarkable accuracy. One of the standout features of the Elite Series 2 is the customizable buttons and paddles. The controller comes with a set of interchangeable components, allowing you to tailor the layout to your preferences. The addition of four paddles on the back is a game-changer, providing easy access to additional inputs without needing to remove your thumbs from the analog sticks. With the Xbox Accessories app, you can remap buttons, adjust trigger sensitivity, and save different profiles for various games or playstyles. This level of customization is a boon for competitive gamers and those seeking optimal control in every gaming scenario. Battery life is another area where the Elite Series 2 excels. The built-in rechargeable battery offers an impressive 40 hours of gameplay on a single charge, which is more than enough for even the most extended gaming sessions. Additionally, the controller comes with a charging dock, making it incredibly convenient to keep your controller charged and ready to go at all times. The controller also boasts Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for seamless pairing with both Xbox consoles and Windows 10 PCs. The low-latency connection ensures a lag-free gaming experience, which is crucial for competitive gaming or when playing fast-paced action games. While the Elite Series 2 Controller undoubtedly delivers an exceptional gaming experience, it does come with a premium price tag. However, considering the build quality, customization options, and overall performance, I believe the investment is well worth it for serious gamers who want the best controller on the market. In conclusion, the Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller sets a new standard for gaming controllers. It combines excellent build quality, customization options, and outstanding performance to provide a truly immersive gaming experience. If you're a dedicated gamer who values precision and control, this controller is a must-have addition to your gaming setup.

Perfect for comfortable ergonomic gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a more streamlined and comfortable controller this is it. I have used it for 2.5 years and it is still working well. I play a lot of fast paced games that push the controller pretty hard, so very slight stick drift has started at the 2.5 year mark. The battery last for multi day gaming. Usually i am charging it once every 2 weeks with 20+ hour weeks.

Total game changer!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is very expensive for a controller, but that is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. It’s pretty awesome. It’s weighted and feels very comfortable. The in case charging is awesome, great battery life. The paddles are really the main reason I got this. They really help supercharge your gaming. Everything is super customizable, from the button (and paddle) mapping, to the sensitivity and style of the joysticks. You can have multiple profiles and quickly switch between them. I would recommend getting this and it is worth the expensive price tag.
