Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller's high-quality build, excellent battery life, and comfortable grip. Many appreciate the customization options and the controller's overall feel and weight. However, customers are negative about the prevalence of stick drift issues reported by some users, as well as concerns about the durability of certain buttons and bumpers. The positive feedback on features like customization and feel is frequently offset by negative experiences with controller longevity.

It’s a very good controller that will last a long time. My bf has charged it maybe twice in the last 8 months of having it. It’s perfect

Great controller. A lot of customization and features. The only issue is the analog sticks. They will eventually get stick drift unfortunately.

I’m not a pro-gamer, and I know my PC gaming wasd breathen might look down their collective noses at an “elite controller,” but this has been a super worthwhile purchase for a few reasons (coming from an Xbox/pc controller that had the gold texture grips and AA batteries): 1) rechargeable battery is so much better than the removable AA. Charge lasts WAY longer. 2) USB-C, because in 2021 ain’t no got time for usb-a (a long and successful life). 3) I find the wireless response time to be much better than previous controller. Quick note: I have an usb Xbox wireless adapter, never in my life have I been able to get any controller working over just Bluetooth. Save yourself a headache and get the wireless adapter if you’re using this with Windows. 4) The weight is perfect, you could use it to club someone with if you have to but that’s because of the density, not because it’s a massive lead weight. Hands feel great wielding this bad boy. Yeah it’s not cheap, but you know where the money went when you hold it in your hand.

I’m a light ‘gamer’ with an obsession for new hardware. Compared to the in-box controller, the XE2 is a no-brainer. Compared to the XE1, things get a little closer. Aesthetically, the E2 looks better imo. Maybe it’s just because it’s different than the first gen... who knows. The feel... Feeling the controller in hand is everything I expected, and wanted. The internal battery makes the back less-crammed. The triggers feel bitter-smooth. The analog sticks, d-pads, paddles, etc are all great. The paddles are smaller and this leads to a better feel and less accidental hits... EXCEPT when switching the trigger ‘pull’ switch from its lowest (closest to paddles) setting. I’ll get used to it. The analog stick tension customization is cool, though I wish a tool wasn’t needed, but I get it. Kind of. The profile switcher is to my liking, as is the USB-C input so I’m not constantly flipping it back and forth to get it to fit the port (first world problems). The included dock is a nice touch and has magnets for proper seating. I love magnets... The case is nice and the port is cool, I guess. If you aren’t going to customize the controller via the Xbox accessories app (or whatever they call it), then this controller isn’t for you. Hope this helps someone out there!

This is a good controller. The customizable things you can do to your button mapping is insanely good for when I want to switch up my settings for the distant toes of competitive games I play.

Ended up returning due to inability to find paddles locally however, this was a very nice controller. If the opportunity arises, I'll grab one again and throw some paddles on it.

Is it expensive? Yes Is it worth it? YES. It's heavy which makes it feel sturdy, the paddles on the back add extra inputs (which I love) and the trigger locks are a godsend for shooters.

This controller is excellent from the standpoint of functionality, ergonomics, and customizability. It has everything from multiple profiles, customizable triggers, adjustable stick tension, swappable D-Pads, and 2-4 paddles depending on user preference. It's also basically plug and play on PC. Where it falls short is build quality. Despite being quite an expensive controller, it has only a 1 year warranty, which admittedly is up from the 90 days offered on the Elite v1. I have returned 7 of these in the last 4 years - they do not last. Stick drift, sticking triggers, and unresponsive bumpers (typically R1) are the most common issues. I don't think any of them have lasted a full year. They're also the same issues I had on the Elite v1. Given that it's almost a decade since the original Elite was released, I think it's clear the manufacturer isn't willing or able to address the quality control issues. This is underscored by the fact that a bare bones version (the Core) was released without the Series 2 accessories. Presumably this was to offer a lower cost option to people whose controllers had failed, and were out of warranty.

It's super comfortable to hold, with a great ergonomic design that allows for extended gaming sessions without any discomfort. The buttons are responsive and perfectly placed, providing precise control over your games. The thumbsticks give just the right amount of resistance, offering smooth and accurate movement. And let's not forget about the rumble feature that adds an extra layer of immersion to your gaming experience. Whether you're playing action-packed shooters or engaging in fast-paced sports games, the Xbox controller delivers unmatched performance. It's a must-have accessory for any serious gamer!

Great hand feel, good response, and nice looking. Be prepared for some weird glitches starting out if you use this with a PC and Steam and Windows 11. I've seemingly settled mine down, but when I first started using the controller, hitting the "A" button would open the Xbox game bar...usually in the middle of the game I was playing...usually at the worst possible time. It's a known issue that has mostly been sorted out. That said - the first time you run into these kinds of issues will sour you a little on the controller. Price point is too high. This is an $70-80 controller in my opinion. Still good - just spendy and can have a lumpy first use experience for PC users.
