Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller's high-quality build, excellent battery life, and comfortable grip. Many appreciate the customization options and the controller's overall feel and weight. However, customers are negative about the prevalence of stick drift issues reported by some users, as well as concerns about the durability of certain buttons and bumpers. The positive feedback on features like customization and feel is frequently offset by negative experiences with controller longevity.

Great controller highly customizable
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok so this controller uses micro usb to charge only so you can't use it as a wired controller. Also I can connect to Series Xbox but not Windows 11 PC for some reason. I'm just saying this because when I opened mine there was evidence that the controller had been returned 4 times before me making me the 5th owner. Having said that, the controller has some really nice and dare I say scientific settings relating to the acceleration arc if graphed. You may choose linear or radial which is awesome and radial is more advanced and takes some getting use to. You can adjust the depth of the Z axis triggers and it really mechanically adjusts the controller in a neat way. The buttons underneath I wasn't able to stop inadvertently pressing so I don't use them but could only think of one small application for a button there. Basically if there's a key that needs pressing while both of your thumbs are already occupied it's nice having the underneath buttons. I wish one of them could be used for Push to Talk in all honesty but nah this is a great controller A+ highly recommended. The carrying case and extra buttons and extra thumbsticks are useful.

Worth it..especially at the open box price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy offered the best deal I could find for the Elite 2 controller. I appreciate its heavier and more durable feel compared to the regular controller. The attempt to fix the grip issue and the switch to USB-C are also positives. However, it would be even better with hall effect or a similar feature to prevent stick drift. It's worth noting that these controllers came out before hall effect joysticks became more common. Perhaps this is something they will consider for the Elite 3 design improvements.

Get Insurance
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This joystick defiently is better than the regular xbox joystick. I am not a heavy gamer, I game once everyother day for one hour or two. And Ive actually seen my self progress through out the games I play. It gives you advantage and makes you rely on those extra buttons. I cant game with any regular joystick now. And after 6 month of owning it, I started encountering slight stick drift. And after a month complete stick drift. Now its unusable, so be mindful to get Insurance.

Best controller but still room for improvement.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great controller. Feels great in the hand very dense. I love the case! Having the removable dock in the case for charging was a great idea. The customization options are seamless. You can also remap everything on the controller. With the shift option you can control any action the console supports. Overall great control. Compared to the Dual Sense for PS5, i wish that they added the adaptive triggers. I do like the locking triggers but the sensation of the resistance when you pull a trigger is just too good.

Great if you have Series 2 and Need a Replacement.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't think about it coming with the thumbsticks with the sharp edge around the top. Luckily I had an Elite Series 2 that had stick drift and was able to move the thumbsticks from it to this and now I'm happy. Having black thumbsticks also broke up the sea of red nicely. Still think it is weird to have white on the back.

The best controller available!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've use the Elite controller from Microsoft since they first came out. They are a very nice controller. 40 hours per charge is impressive. Yes, you can even play and charge at the same time. The first series did have some issues. From wearing out thumb sticks to sprint/melee buttons. Yes, these controllers do get dropped from time to time. Ive broken triggers, worn out hand grips. Series 2 seems like a game changer. Its an impressive upgrade to an already great controller. Is it worth the cost? YES!

Elite controller
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing controller for FPS games by far. You don’t have to use a single one of the A,X,B,Y buttons at all bc of the paddles.

Actually worth the buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had and used other controllers that have extra paddles, button mapping etc, etc, but this is actually special. Tge in depth settings and tuning you can do with it are kinda countless. A couple of them being able to set the trigger deadzones without using the trigger stops, the extra tension you can add to the joysticks, and way more than i can manage to type here. I was hesitant on the purchase because of the price tag as well, but it’s a purchase I haven’t cone to regret unlike others I’ve made in the past.

Worst quality control and internal design!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR You will go through multiple controllers because of abysmal quality control unless you are extremely lucky. Would be an incredible controller if it actually didn’t have such issues. Don’t waste your time or money, it isn’t worth it in the long run. While I bought the original Elite controller and purchased the Series 2 soon after release, about a year in I noticed there was an issue with the A button which would occasionally double register, completely stop registering at all. This obviously is a huge issue. I had several issues with the original Series controllers so I figured this one would be better. I was wrong after receiving the first replacement. It was okay for the little bit I tested it, except a crack in the Xbox Home button which could cut a finger. So I returned it for a replacement as soon as I could get back up to the store. I received the replacement today, one of the only ones left in the store and was a ecstatic to be able to play some of my favorite FPS again on a controller that doesn’t hurt my hands as much as my PS5 controllers do. About 10 minutes into a match of Halo Infinite to test it out, it became apparent that I could not press in the left thumb stick while at any other angle besides up, down, left, & right. My previous Elite Series 2 never had this issue, so I contacted technical support at Microsoft who deal with controller related issues. I was told to return it immediately as it is defective. I noticed my Series X/S controllers also do not have this issue, just a side note. As someone who has to drive a distance to even reach my local Best Buy and also pay tolls to get across bridges, this is infuriating at the lack of quality control that Microsoft offers on their products. I’ve owned several Xbox controllers dating back to the Duke (the original Xbox controller), and besides the original Elite controller have I seen quality control so shoddy. They should fire whomever engineered these controllers, along with the engineer and product designer for the wireless headset (the mic will always break off after time due to poor placement of a screw and soft plastic that bends till it breaks if you ever press the mute button or god forbid move the boom mic in a different position). I love to support all hardware companies, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, even Valve. But this is a product that I can not recommend if my life depended on it. If you are fortunate enough to receive one in perfect condition, count your blessings. Because after this ordeal, I doubt I will buy any more “Elite” Xbox products, having sunken $420 into their 2 TB SSD, 1 TB SSD, 3 regular controllers, a Series X & S, and another headset after the first one’s mic fell off 3 months after buying it and was told by Microsoft that it’s common but there is nothing they can do. Steer clear of this unless you have the time and means to keep trying if you receive lemons like I and many others have.

Core Controller Only
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the core elite 2 controller, so it does not come with the paddles or the extra analog sticks, but you can use paddles and sticks from other elite 2 controllers. It does, however, come with the key to adjust the sticks’ tension. Overall, the controller works well, but I would recommend getting the service protection plan. Microsoft only covers their controllers for 30 days.

Buy anything else.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The right bumper broke on the first one I bought, exchanged it for a new one and my second one has a broken bumper too. I live alone, if the controller isn’t in my hand it’s on the stand. I bought a 2 or 3 year warranty, so I will be exchanging this one as well. But it’s pretty crazy how bad these things are. The controller that came with my Xbox has easily seen more use than either of these and it still works fine, but for some reason the official Xbox Elite Controller bumper doesn’t hold up.

Get this controller.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wayyyy better than the standard Xbox controller. The grips are better, having the under-the-controller buttons is so much better, having button mapping and thumb stick sensitivity adjustments is incredible. The controller even comes with a hard carrying case that holds your extra buttons and acts as a charging station when plugged in. It’s crazy good. Tbh I couldn’t go back to a reggie controller again.
