Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller's high-quality build, excellent battery life, and comfortable grip. Many appreciate the customization options and the controller's overall feel and weight. However, customers are negative about the prevalence of stick drift issues reported by some users, as well as concerns about the durability of certain buttons and bumpers. The positive feedback on features like customization and feel is frequently offset by negative experiences with controller longevity.

Ive been using this controller now for about a month. I love it and i also loved the first one. I got the Geek Squad Warranty on the first so i returned it for store credit and picked up this bad boy. First let me start off by saying that THANK GOD it has a internal battery build it. The first one didnt and they annoyed me, how are you gonna charge me over $100 for a controller and not have a battery pack. ANYWAYS, i like that the Ver 2 you can adjust the Tension on the sticks. I also like that the hair triggers, this is a game changer for FPS. The back panels on this ver are smaller than Ver1 (not much) and a different color. I enjoy mapping these to different buttons and i feel it gives me an edge when using them. That being said ...i got used to it and tried to use a regular controller it throws me off. Over all id say this is a buy if you have the extra money, you can probably get the same customizations with Scuff but i just prefer to get Xbox stuff. Also PLEASE get the geek squad Protection plan. The sticks started to go on my Ver1 and they gave me a brand new one no questions. I just had to purchase another geek squad plan for that one as well! Good Luck

Excellent controller. Map paddles on bottom to any other button or remove them. Feels solid/dense, unlike classic controller that feels hollow/weighless. Worth the money.

Used to play on my pc. Had to buy a Xbox wireless receiver didn’t work with built in Bluetooth. So if using on pc you will have to buy one. But other than that, it works really good. A must buy. I have about 150 hours so far gaming, no problems.

For the most part has worked exceptionally well since it was purchased. As of right now, a couple of the buttons are getting sticky like something is in them, but I've been careful about keeping it clean so I'm not sure why. Other than that, it's been a great purchase and would recommend / buy another if I need it to.

Great build quality and excellent battery life. I'm also thankful that you can easily remove the hair triggers from underneath as I have a tendency to accidentally hit them when playing. Comes with a nice little docking station too for charging. I feel they should release another version without the stand, hair triggers, extra sticks/D-pad, and case and it would drop the price significantly. The difference between this and the regular Xbox controller is so significant it seems there should be a product in the middle. In any case, this is simply the best PC gamepad you can buy right now however it DOES NOT come with the USB wireless adapter so you have to purchase that separately. I already had one so it wasn't a big deal for me but I can expect some people to be very upset when they pay that amount of money and then can't use it wirelessly on their PC.

While the Elite controllers are far superior to the regular ones, they are still full of wearing parts, and prone to being dropped or mistreated. We had a teen boy in the house, and had the first version of the Elite controller, and so we got the GeekSquad protection thinking we wouldn't use it, but it's not that expensive so what the heck. I can not tell you how many times the GeekSquad plan has saved the day. I think that first series controller got replaced 3 times before the series 2 came out! Now that the series 2 was released, people are discovering problems with it. SO, that's even more reason to get that GeekSquad protection on it! I think this controller is like version 2 of series 2 in the Elite controller lineup or something like that, and they may have worked out all the problems, but I think it's still better safe than sorry. So I'd say get that GS protection on it, otherwise the Elite is a waste of money as it will most likely break at some point.

While I don't really think it's worth the full price, I got it on sale and used certificates to lower its cost even further, it's definitely an awesome controller. It's a solid, good-weighted controller. The grip texture around the entire grips is great. It just feels really good in your hands. Being able to tighten the tension on the control sticks, swapping out the sticks or the D-Pad for the other ones, all super easy to do. My one complaint is the lack of the share button the newer Series X/S controllers have. Since I got this after having one of those controllers, I definitely notice it missing. If they would patch an update to be able to remap the "preset switch" button to be the share button, this would be the perfect controller in my opinion, but for those who don't use the share button that often it's already at that perfect level.

Good controller, paddles can be swapped out by the scuff ones and are pretty useful. For the price compared to others not a bad buy.

Love how it feels in my hands. Build quality could be a little better this is my second one after a couple of years, my right bumper only would work if pressing on a certain part of the bumper and the grip started to pull up a little bit. Other complaint is the software required to map buttons and update your controller on PC forced me to upgrade to Windows 11, not a huge deal but you know that’s just another lame tactic on Windows’s part.

I had my doubts with this controller seeing how many people had an issue with the previous model. Everything has held up well. I would give it a 5 star if it wasn't for having to adjust everything from a memu. Compared to other cheaper controllers that you can program the padels on the fly... mid game.

My husband loves his remote. We've purchased the elite series several times. The previous versions had issues over time, specifically with the joystick and L1 button. We will see how long this one lasts.

    Game-Changer Controller for Apex Legends!

Just grabbed the Microsoft Elite Series 2 controller and it’s been amazing for my Apex Legends sessions! The build is super solid, and it feels premium in my hands. What really stands out are the paddles at the back. They make a huge difference in fast-paced games like Apex. I can jump, reload, and do all sorts of moves without taking my thumbs off the sticks. It’s been a game-changer for sure, making everything more responsive and upping my game. The battery life is great too, lasting through even the longest gaming marathons. If you’re big into games like Apex, this controller is a must-have!
