Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller's high-quality build, excellent battery life, and comfortable grip. Many appreciate the customization options and the controller's overall feel and weight. Mostly an Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the first Elite controller before this, and it's a definite 95% upgrade. This controller is great quality, substantial and weighty in a satisfying way, and the customization options work wonders. The main downside is in the comparison to the original model. For whatever reason, Microsoft has decided you only need one long thumbstick and one domed thumbstick — which makes no sense, because there are two thumbsticks on this controller. You have two standard, two "classic" (which are basically identical to the standard), then one long and one domed. I loved the two long thumbsticks on my old Elite controller because they allow for more precise movements and cramp my hands far less... but these thumbsticks are incompatible with the original Elite controller, which can only be a financial decision for Microsoft. That doesn't make sense either, though, because they don't sell additional thumbsticks. I suppose I need to find a friend with one of these who doesn't use the long thumbsticks and trade their long one for my domed one... and that's ridiculous. Additionally, there are reviews online that state some of the A/B/X/Y buttons don't always work. I have this issue too, where my button presses randomly don't work. The buttons are also spongy. This is inexcusable at this price point, from a first-party company... but because of the paddles, I rarely use the buttons anyway so it doesn't break the deal for me. Mapping those buttons to the paddles greatly enhances gameplay (you can leave your right thumb on the thumbstick and still use A/B/X/Y, even multiple simultaneously, and that's a HUGE perk!) so I definitely recommend that. You can remap A/B/X/Y if you want, also, to other functions. Don't neglect the controller configuration app on the Xbox One or Series X|S. That's where you truly maximize this controller, to set up custom travel distances on thumbsticks and triggers and remap controls. You can have three separate profiles on the controller, as well as a default which unfortunately isn't editable. I have mine set up with default, FPS, racing, and RPG settings to maximize experience in different game types I play — this controller is most useful, in my experience, in FPS and racing games. Online FPS games will see substantial benefits for you if you use this controller well, and racing games (I play Forza Motorsport/Horizon games) are much better with this controller set up with paddles and configured travel distances. Honestly, using this controller for online FPS and racing games feels like borderline cheating sometimes. You can jump or crouch while you turn/move/fire, ALL AT ONCE, in an FPS game. In a racing game, you can customize your gas and brake pedals as well as steering. Seriously, this is huge for both genres.

Solid controller, weirdness with the warranty…
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought a refurbished series 2 originally, geek squad refurbished. It was $99 dollars, and I bought the 2 year warranty. When I went to exchange it after mine had gotten pretty run down, I was told I would need to pay $100+ to get another. They tried to up sell me a brand new one, which I did not appreciate, nor did I see anything about that when I bought it. They ended up getting me an open box one so I only had to pay like $20, but they should really be more open about the warranties. They said they “didn’t have any” geek squad refurbished ones, even though that’s the store I bought the original from. If you offer a warranty on a product, then you should be able to replace the product if you have a warranty, no more, no less than the original. It’s a great controller, probably best on the market but there have always been stuck drift and button issues over time. Most button issues can be fixed by popping it open and hitting them with some rubbing alcohol, but the stick drift is tough. Best way to avoid getting it in the first place, is DO NOT use the sticks on the tightest setting. Keep them loose, and it will last way longer.

Definitely ups your game.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the controller. Got a second one because I didn't buy an extended warranty on my first. I highly recommend putting the 2 year service on it. I used mine daily and it started to break down after about 8 months. By 12 months (about 8 days past warranty) the left stick got all kinds of wonky. Anywho, i had everything I needed from the previous controller. so I bought this one with 2 year service and saved a bunch of $$$.

Great controller!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this controller because the original controller that came with my series s stopped working. I was unsure at first to pick this up because of the price and I heard cases of these pro controllers drifting and not working. But a friend had one and said it was great. So I took the risk and so far this controller works fine and I love the little features it has like adhust the tension of the sticks and the trigger stops. Overall a solid controller

Good for what I paid for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what u paid for (used) it’s great! Unfortunately I was expecting to come in its original box but didn’t, which it’s still ok. It came with everything, the controller was spotless and scratch less too! But, as I expected for a used item, the left trigger had some registering problems on its lowest setting, besides that the rest of the controller works perfectly.

Excellent precision and very comfortable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great controller with precise handling and comfortable grip. I bought it to replace an older Elite controller, so I already had the compatible additional components. It was very easy to attach the additional peripherals from my older Elite controller since this is the same - just without the components included. My older controller lasted for about 3 years with heavy use, so I'm expecting this one to be pretty durable as well. Whether you need a regular, just sturdier Xbox controller of if you want to replace an older Elite controller, then this is just right. Plus, you have the option to buy the additional components/peripherals later.

Incredible controller but not cheap
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good controller. A little pricey though. The feel of the device in hand is great and very different from the standard controller. And there are so many configuration options it seems overwhelming.

It also randonly loses connection a lot. Its definitely not worth full price mayne not even a sale. Consider other controllers first.
