They seem to last much longer than the standard Xbox controllers but we have had issues with some drifting after about a year of heavy use.

However, what little time I have had it is far superior to the elite series 1. The controller feels heavier and of higher quality than the series 1.

Having this in combination with the Geek Squad protection is 10x better than having a Scuff controller. Cable (USB-C) given with controller is about a 6 feet long. Doesn’t always connect directly with system when attempting to turn on the console from controller. To fix just connect the cable to the console and syncs. Minor flaw but also didn’t attempt to update firmware on controller to see if it remedied the issues.
