Looks are better but quality seems to be a little under the first elite. Bought this one for a friend. Ive had mine for about 6 months now.

I had issues with 2 controllers so far. Never had any issues with gen 1. Gen 2 issues: - Random disconnects - Double press on buttons I would still recommend it since it’s a great upgrade form the original controller

Purchased in July of 2020, and now 5 months in, the left joystick drifts constantly. After further research I discovered that Microsoft has begun manufacturing a “improved” version of the same controller (model FST-00008) versus the FST-00001 version. The model I received is the latter. Most people who have purchased this seem to be experiencing the same issues. I have the Best Buy protection plan, and intend on replacing this controller when Best Buy gets it back into stock, and am hoping for the newer version.

LB doesnt always register, now its RB and one of the back buttons. I got the geek squad warranty and already used it and the replacement did the exact same thing.

Has a solid feel and build, interchangeable sticks, pads and programmable buttons. The only downside of the cost. But if it lasts for a year then it paid for itself.
