It's nice not having to constantly change batteries for the controller, and if this battery pack wears out in its age all you have to do is keep it plugged in. Which is not really too much to ask considering the length of the usb charger cord. You can also switch back and forth between batteries and the charge-pack with ease if you want to help it last a bit longer.
