Simple but definitely an upgrade over buying batteries.

Charges but not good if youre playing and charging

I'm not hard on my video game controllers. They rarely hit the floor from falling off my knee and if they do my floor is carpeted. With the design of the plug and being located at the top of the controller, it only takes one fall to make me have to hold the wire a certain way to charge while I play. Not the best design and I would recommend the chargers and batteries you can place on a stand to charge(make sure you buy two battery packs because it's worth it).

    Unreliable

I bought three of these at launch for Series X and PC use. It has been about 9 months and two out of three of them no longer work. One will charge just enough to be at critical battery when I unplug the cable, the other is just dead. I purchased a protection plan for both (mainly because I remember the 360 era play and charge kits being unreliable) but I can't actually get a replacement, because there is zero stock. It's easier to just plug the controller in to charge, rather than swap AA batteries, so these were convenient while they worked, but they don't last.

Overpriced - Should be standard with Controller

I give this 1 star, my reasoning is the controllers are the same price as PS4 controllers which come with built in battery. This is just another one of those hidden costs that slowly add up, making the controller 75-85 bucks versus the 50-60 they can normally be found for. Before you buy this, consider one of the charging stands like the energizer one that comes with a charging stand you plug into a regular outlet and it comes with two battery packs and covers, so for ~25 bucks your getting two controller charge packs, versus 1 you get with this item.

    5 seconds of charge

These used to be good when the port was on the battery. Now they have to be charged on the controller. 5 seconds after unplugging I get a batteries are low warning. I purchased another one because they didn't have the other kind and maybe it was no good. Same problem and there's no way to tell if it's doing anything. I wouldn't take another one for free.

This battery pack stopped working after just two and a half months, conveniently just after return policy periods are past. I won't buy this one again and I don't recommend it either.
