Just what you need to keep your controllers charged. I tried the non-licensed version but the fit in the controller isn't right (it's hard to close the slide cover) and the charging cable light doesn't show you when the battery is charging versus full. So, I will stick with these and only wish Microsoft sold the batteries alone.

I used the play and charge kit to make my controller wired so I don't ever have to change batteries when I'm playing. I just remove the battery and use the cord for power.

This peripheral works exactly like it is supposed to with no frills, and that is a good thing. You can play while plugged in. You can charge while the console is off or in standby mode. And it does charge quickly. The only complaint is that the microUSB plug that goes into the controller from the cord is sometimes a little difficult to line up and insert, but this is only a minor complaint, not a real problem.
