    The Microsoft battery seems to be a better battery that others. I believe the Microsoft battery is a lithium battery vs other use nickel metal hydride batteries

    While it's annoying that this is sold separately from the controller, it is nice that this integrates into the battery bay so well. You don't need to remove the battery to charge it, the battery connects directly to the mainboard and will charge over USB when you plug in the controller.
