I tested the battery with many other cords and xbox controllers so I know it is the battery itself. A product like this should last at least a year. Still cheaper than buying batteries constantly, but would recommend getting the warranty extension to get more for your dollar.

I let it charge for 4 hours. After 4 hours I unplugged it and battery status still showed low. I tried to charge it via wall power, and portable battery but would not charge. I'm returning this charger. I bought this brand because its made by Microsoft thinking I would have no problems. lol.
