It seemed fine after that, but it constantly "freeezes up" when I'm using it. I have to turn it off and back on every few minutes to keep doing my work. I'm retruning it for a different product.. This is the 1st time I've had a problem with a Microsoft mouse, so may try another model.

The optical sensor is pretty accurate and the mouse can be used on a variety of surfaces except as is with nearly all mice you should refrain from using on a hologram mouse pad or a glass like surface. It fits the average hand or smaller hand with little strain to use the scroll wheel and click buttons.
