Microsoft in general LOVES to push their OEM accessories. In this case I went with theirs for the simple fact that the product can be expected to last and if not, it will be well covered by both Best Buy and Microsoft. I've bought a few third party accessories in the past and they were hit and miss at best. Bottom line, this is a good product. Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
