New Color and more to come

This controller is a nice upgrade from the old Xbox controllers. The controller feels stronger and yet it's a little smaller than the 1st-gen xbox controllers. The wireless controller has a very strong connection and the sleek design fits perfect on the hands. I recommend the wireless over the wired controls because you can connect four instead of just two (through the USB). Plus it saves room for the Vision cam or a external hard drive. Long lasting even with AA batterys or just use the Lith-ion battery and save some cash on it all together. I love the wireless controller and feel that it's a must for the Xbox 360.

Well, what do you say. It is a controller and it works. I bought this one with the intention of buying the charging base. If not getting the base I would get a play and charge instead.

I was just mentioning to friends that last gen accessories had not gone on sale, then BAM! I found this controller at price that I had not seen for controllers since the other big box store went out of business. I like deals and I got this controller at a good price, and now friends don't need to bring their controllers with them when they come over to play. Don't buy at full price for the design, wait for a sale, they should come more often now that next gen consoles are out.

I bought this from Best Buy since I wanted to pick it up at a local store rather than wait for shipping while using another online shopping site. Also I have to pay taxes either way, so felt getting reward zone points for purchase is better. I also got the price matched with another online retailer's price, that way did not feel I was paying excess for this amount. Overall this product meets my expectations. It works perfectly and I have not had any issues so far.

Well I am not sure quite what to tell you. It is an excellent controller, not some aftermarket knock off. If you need a controller this is the way to go, don't try to save money on cheap junk.

    Wires? Wires?

I've had a pair of the original wired 360 controllers for my PC for a couple years now. After finally picking up a 360 with wireless controllers, I want the wireless receiver for pc use as well. No tangles, no piles of wires next to the console, no having to figure out who is player 1 and who is 2. The controller also turns off when not in use and will shut down with the 360 so as to conserve power. Couple this with the recharge pack and there's no worries about downtime either.

    Works perfectly for PC games/Emulators

I use this for all manner of PC games, and even emulators. It works effortlessly with windows machines, just plug it in, and windows will grab the drivers for you. There's not much else to say, it's a 360 controller, and it works great. I've had one for years and never had any issues using on a PC. The cord is also long enough to use on the console in a pinch.

A Step Above the Standard Controller

    Posted .

This controller is very similar to the standard black and white controllers that have been produced for the Xbox 360 since the beginning. That said, this product does have some slight improvements on that traditional design: * Shoulder buttons feel a little more responsive than the traditional buttons. The standard controller's shoulder buttons always felt just a little squishy to me, but these are very "clicky." * The D-Pad is a little higher than the standard controller, and rotates to change from a strictly 4-way (up, down, left, right) pad, to a circular 8-way pad, providing easy diagonals, depending on what you like. * The best improvement, in my opinion, is the control sticks, which look and feel almost exactly like the Xbox One's sticks. Instead of being a thin, flat plastic pad with a rubbery cap, these sticks seem more substantial. The stick appears to to be thicker plastic and more durable, with a rubbery ring around the outside edge of the stick. I have had trouble with the rubber pad on the standard stick loosening up and coming off in the past (to be fair, the standard controllers did last 6 years under serious abuse from children), but I don't believe this will be a problem with the Special Edition sticks. All in all, the standard Xbox 360 controller has been, in my opinion, the best traditional controller on the market since the 360 was released. While the Special Edition controllers (camouflage, silver and gold chrome) are not groundbreaking, they do make small improvements on what has been the gold standard in the seventh generation of the console gaming world.

The BEST XBox Controller out there!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is the best controller out there! Wireless is the way to go and Microsoft made sure they had no competition there. You can get cool glowing controllers but they won't be wireless like this one. My six year old has gotten mad and thrown this controller across the room, but it still works as well as the day we bought it. Plus we don't have kids tripping over cords and making the xbox fall off the tv stand. It is pricy but with it.

I own an Xbox and an Alienware laptop. This item was a perfect fit for me and my gaming environment. I purchased this particular model because it was Microsoft and I knew it would be compatible with both systems out of the box. No surprises there.

One of the best controllers ever made.

Microsoft put a lot of work into making a high quality controller. This unit is very comfortable, the controls are in the right places, and the wireless seems to just work. I wouldn't mind seeing the price a little lower, but that's NOT a Best Buy issue, this is the standard price. It doesn't make sense to pay a little less and be stuck with a corded controller.

    Improved Dpad

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The dpad on this one is a lot better then the one on the original controller. But I still think it needs some work. The original one was "sunken", this one is raised but in my opinion way too much. I think somewhere in the middle of the original and this new one would be perfect.

    Should be the standard!

Even though wireless controllers may be the standard package, a wired controller is much more reliable in the long run and better for competition. Since it doesn't use a battery pack, the controller is much lighter. A wired controller never lags and a player will never have to worry about battery life or signal interference, as well as not having to synchronize a controller to a console.
