Run 2 apps at once PLUS Free MS Office

For the same price as an iPad you get so much more. The screen is lower resolution, but rarely do I notice. I don't think people really consider what this tablet has that other don't-Full internet browser with flash, Full size USB port, Full MS Office and run two apps at the same time. This is truly a tablet you can use for work and play. When traveling I will no longer take my iPad AND MacBook Air. Yes, thats right I switched from a mac/ipad to this. It replaces both. At my desk still have a fullsize computer, this is just too small to be your full time computer. Don't let the website reviews fool you, read the reviews of actual users here and on Amazon. People that own this love it. Build quality is unbelievable. The lack of apps is sad, and the email client does not support pop3, really?

I bought this tablet on black Friday for $199, along with a touch cover. It was easy to set up, it only took about 5 minutes. The screen is large and clear, but the "vaporMG" they used on the back of the tablet is a fingerprint magnet and they're almost impossible to wipe off. It's fast and has all the necessities like Facebook and twitter in the app store. The camera takes decent pictures and video in good lighting but in low light they do get grainy, but its a tablet, not a DSLR. Would recommend this to anyone not wanting to spend $500 on the iPad. Its not perfect, but it's good enough.

Great machine for the black Friday Price of$199.00

Great machine for the price that I got it at... Had it been more I would have opted for Pro series. For $199.99 is a steal for this machine, but the most I would pay would be $250.00. This is great for the person who knows how to work with Windows based products and are willing to see how you can maybe use this type of machine in your company. With the RT coming with full office, outlook, you can't go wrong. Plus the colors... They are very cool, I am rockin the Cyan case with type cover keyboard !!!! I would recommend this to anyone, as long as you know how to use it... Any IT\Tech person would know what I am talking about.... Also the ability to add more storage is a complete killer to the iPad....

Surface rts review. I got the cheaper Microsoft surface the other day and gave Chris my laptop for his work. I love having this tablet I like the touch screen its very nice. Though there are things about it now that I did not know then. IE when they say you can't download programs their not taking about games. Adobe flash player, Microsoft Silverlight all of that is something you cat download. You are stuck with internet explorer the end no chrome no Mozilla a lagging and crashing explorer. There are only so may apps you can get through the store they will add to it but nothing compared to the iPad. But you not dealing with iTunes^^ I'm hoping that they get apps lie Netflix and fix he issue I know tier coming out with #2 already but I ray want them to fix issues with #1 And all the typos are from the touch screen keyboard it skips and changes my words like crazy no Netflix if you have kids no abc mouse or other sites you may use a lot to entertain them ( I actually got this to share with my toddler we do the above and now can't I recommend a cheap laptop over this)

I got this tablet 2 days ago and have had zero problems with it! At first I was skeptical about buying a windows tablet because I heard that there weren't very many apps. I decided that it would be for business purposes anyway, so apps didn't matter much. I was choosing between a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and the Surface. I am glad I chose the surface, because it comes with Microsoft Office preloaded whereas with android I would've had to buy it. This is a great tablet for a college student or a business traveler!

we were looking for a tablet for my son cuz he reads a lot so we get him the Kindel fire, than i saw my wife playing a lot with a tablet, and she goes.."this thigs are nice" and she was looking at the nook,so i decided to get her something even better for chritmas the Surface with the pink keyboard, she loved it at first she was confused with the new windows but she got the hang of it really fast, she is in love with this thing.Microsoft has changed the game use to be the ugly OS on the block but now you have ipad users asking you about your windows device.

Got this since I did not have personal laptop that was working and also needed back up for work Lenovo that is always broke. This does great for surfing net, facebook, etc. I also love that Office comes installed. I would not replace my laptop for daily use with this but it is great for travel and when my Lenovo is broke. Also, I was able to get Citrix to work for work apps! The touch screen is OK but I love the snap on keyboard. This is a great work tablet for those of us stuck with Microsoft for work and not wanting to learn Apple/Google.

I absolutely love this tablet. I got it for my kids for Christmas and right on time for lots of cooking - set it up on the kitchen counter and followed recipes on-line. It feels sturdy & substantial in your hands. Already sent Microsoft Office docs back and forth - started on PC, finished on tablet, e-mailed back to PC (very convenient). The screen resolution is great, my daughter has nabbed it to watch movies on Netflix in bed, its a lot of fun. I plan to pair it with a wireless printer, no more running up and down the stairs to print from the kitchen table!

    Perfect Tablet for Starfleet

I purchased this tablet on black Friday for $199.99. I already have a desktop PC and laptop. The was the perfect addition. I can take this on the go. Any files I use can sync with my windows PC via sky drive. I also purchased a 32GB micro sd drive for $17.99 from best buy. I have seen the Surface used for many years By Jean Luc Picard and I figured if its good enough for Capitan Picard its good enough for me.

This Surface tablet is great. I got this a few weeks ago when the price dropped and I defiantly am glad I did. Other than typing reports and papers, this has replaced my laptop and I plan on selling my iPad 2 because it doesn't compare to my new Surface.

The tablet turned out to be a good replacement for my personal laptop. With Microsoft office I was able to work on most of the official work too and have Microsoft Outlook is very good. With the applications being synchronized with hotmail/microsoft account we could play few xbox games on tablet. Already available free movies, applications are really cool. Only tablet that has USB port Overall a great tablet for the price. Only disadvantage is that there is no slot for memory expansion but can have external drive connected through USB port. Limited application compared to Android tablets

I´ve owned an Ipad for about two years and it never fulfilled my working needs; it was great for home use but not in my bussiness travels. The surface is great for my bussines travels; It has remote desktop, ofice and usb port. If you are looking for a tablet where you can get some work done, this is the one.

    Great gift for my Dad

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought the Surface for my Dad for Christmas. The setup was very easy and straight forward. I spent a couple of minutes adding Netflix among other apps for him before Christmas. The screen resolution is good in the horizontal orientation (do to the ClearType technology no doubt), but in the vertical orientation its pixels are more noticeable. But to be honest I have to hold the screen closer than normal to notice them. The Windows 8 interface is great with a touch enabled device. The large tiles make navigating easy, and I think the standard windows desktop option is great. Overall, I gave it an excellent rating, because I was very impressed with the Surface overall, but more importantly my Dad who is not technology savvy was able to figure out how to use his own and really likes it. After seeing and using the Surface RT in person, I have decided to get a Pro version when it comes out as a tablet/laptop replacement.

This was a great tablet that I purchased for $200 on black Friday. It's very easy to set up and it has a comfortable display that you would find on a desktop or laptop. One of the things I wish it could do is have the ability to support different web browsers, itunes, and other downloadable content. Other than those small issues it is a great product for on the go.

    Great Black Friday Deal

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this during the Black Friday sale. Going by the price this is probably one of the best if not the best tablet available at that price point, I have so far been able to do everything on this that I do on my normal computer and have found my desktop computer to be getting a pretty thick layer of dust on the keyboard from a lack of use. Windows 8 takes some time to get used to but it works much better on a touchscreen device than it does for a standard desktop or laptop.

I have Owned my Surface RT since last April. Prior to that I was an iPad user and loved my iPad but could not use real M.S. Excel... enter the Surface RT. Loved the versatility and portability and with Office. I now have a Surface Pro 2 and just purchased two of the RT's as gifts for some students... I know they will love them and use them. They Rock!!!

My wife bought me this tablet for my birthday. So far I am very happy with it. I wanted a tablet that wasn't just a larger version of my phone, which is an Android phone. I am happy with this because it can do what I need it to (ms office, surfing web, emails, music, videos). It is actually replacing our home laptop since it doesn't work anymore. I understand that the app selection is still growing, but it needs to do so faster! I just need to get the keyboard now.

I got the Surface tablet because it was the only tablet with a USB connection. I got the 32 gig over the 64 gig to save $100 because I got a 32 gig thumb drive for $10. Great for surfacing the net. Also I love the key board.
