love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this tablet!! I got it for the black Friday sale. The tablet is great because I could download the kindle bookstore which was an unexpected but awesome perk. I am strongly considering getting the keyboard too. Only downside is that you may only use internet explorer which is not a deal breaker but somewhat disappointing. Overall I am so happy, especially because I only had to pay 200 dollars.

Great price if you can get your hands on one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great tablet. I snagged two for my business because we have to use internet explorer. I really wish with this recent price drop Microsoft would have dropped the price of the additional add on keyboard. $199.99 for the device and $79.99 for the keyboard just doesn't make sense. I would go for it!

Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Surface RT! Its light, portable, and smooth! But the Surface RT feels not durable, like it's going to break when you bend it.

Great pruduct. Very well put together
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the fact that I can do my hw on here I've always needed a tablet\ computer. This is one of the best because I have had the really expensive iPads and Android tablets and none of them can do what this can do, other than the apps. I in collage and having a flash player is really nice. The feel of this tablet is great, I love the built in kick stand.

Great product, but I returned it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product when my laptop died as I am a student and figured it would be a good tool for taking notes in class. It was cheap and lightweight, and the battery lasted many hours. I must say, I really loved this little product and carried it with me all the time. I loved the touchscreen and got used to windows 8 pretty quickly. Reasons I returned it: sometimes it connected to the internet. Most of the time it just said limited. At university it wouldn't even connect, when my old clunker of a laptop did it instantly. Most of the apps required internet to run, I couldn't access my files from skydrive or dropbox, couldn't do my research. I got frustrated enough with it just sitting there and me not being able to use it whenever I wanted that I simply returned it. I looked at how much I paid with all the accessories and figured i'd be better off with a touch screen laptop. The left speaker was also very staticky, and the sound was not clear so I couldn't watch movies or listen to music unless I had headphones in. I sent messages to microsoft and never heard back. I bought it back to the store and was never offered a replacement device, they just grumpily refunded me, so I guess the store lost out on my sale, as if I would have been offered another device that didn't have the internet connection problems, I would have gone for it. But now i've moved on and likely will purchase a ASUS Transformer if I decide to get another tablet, as the keyboard is included, not purchased for $150 more.

Good tablet for general use.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great tablet. It is well built and will last well under general use. While it is expensive, doesn't connect to cellular signals, and doesn't have a ton of storage, it does everything a tablet will be needed for and does it well. Cloud storage is a must for this device and you do need a wireless connection to get the most out of it.

Excellent Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent price for an excellent value of electronics. Personally, this has so much more to offer than the Iphone, IPad and any of the Apple products (which we have 3). I am thinking of giving up Apple going to Microsoft as a whole. Would buy again!

Truely an Ipad Killer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the perfect tablet Microsoft nailed it plus Office is free it's been over 10 years since Office was free on a consumer bought computer. Now if you want to install old Windows programs you will be disappointed, this is Windows OS on a Android OS level. The market place is going with apps but for me Office was all i needed. This tablet is primary used for writing and preaching sermons off of. The Ipad was to much trouble for me. I love the touch pad; at first it feels like you are type on a bare table top but after you get used to no clicky buttons you want notice, now if you like to have clicky just get the touch pad. All in all i love and look forward to a gen 2 just hope they don't do a zune (which i was the few that loved it over the i pod) it6 has a lot of potential.

Decent tablet, but too many overall issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't hate this tablet. I got it over black friday in 2013 to replace my laptop. At first I thought the glitches were just me getting used to Windows RT and a new computer. Then, as it became slower, and more unresponsive, I realized I don't care if the glitches are an operator error or not. Any technology that causes this much frustration, regardless of reason, is not something I want to deal with. First of all, Windows RT isn't awful, but the amount of programs compatible with it are miniscule. It is also far less user friendly than Windows 8, and harder to get used too. Second, I don't know if it is just a glitch in my unit, or something with the model overall, but I have constant power issues. If the battery is low or dead, unlike a phone or laptop, I have wait for it to charge before I can use it, instead of using it while charging. Third, the amount of delay or freezing of apps while attempting to use them is aweful. I've installed a microSD card to expand the memory, and I've reduced the amount of programs and active apps, but it is still so slow. I bought this because it was supposed to be a great tablet, like the Microsoft version of an iPad. However, having had it for a month, I cannot wait to use the extended Holiday Return policy and get rid of it.

Great tablet at $199
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up for $199 and it was well worth the purchase. Running Windows 8.1 on a touchscreen tablet shows what Microsoft had in mind. Responsive to the touch any great screen. Worth getting at this price.

Sad 4 iPad owners....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best purchase money could buy in the tablet world; Well till the launch of the Surface Pro. You wanted a tablet that was like a computer and here it is. No more childish iOS & goodby to the buggy Android, a real OS is here to help. Superior is the only real way to discribe this toy of joy!

great tablet...especially for work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had my reservations about RT.....but no need. This thing has replaced my laptop for sure....the touch cover works amazingly well. Microsoft really outdid themselves. As an owner of the original iPad at launch I would NEVER go back....this is a true computer, not an oversized mobile Phone.

Replaced my fiance's Laptop with a Surface RT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My fiance uses it every night. She likes using it and it has her favorite App (ABC News) which our Android Tablet doesn't support. She uses it so much, we have to clean the screen from the finger prints all the time. Only downside (and this is not because of the surface) some websites have older feature such as rollover menus which is hard to do on a touch device.

No Apps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on black friday for a pretty good deal, I have always wanted a tablet without it costing me an arm and a leg. At first I thought this was a great product, I am usually an apple junky so i thought maybe i needed some time figuring it out. Wrong. There are barely any apps, and the ones they do have are terrible, and almost useless. I am a graphic designer so i bought the extra pen to go with it. It is amazing and probably one of the few redeeming traits about it. the paint app is great but I had a hard time figuring out the entire device. Windows RT needs to be further developed, it has promise but it is not there. I'm selling mine for the galaxy note. Also it is run by internet explorer. It explains a lot.

Press is right - RT is pretty much worthless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We wpurchased a handful of Surfaces for our business - since our employees use PowerPoint, Excel and Word so much we figured the easiest solution would be to go MS. I can't say for sure whether that assumption about being the easiest solution was true, but I can say this thing is pretty much a $350 paperweight. We had read the reviews that the RT isn't really a business tool, but what was most surprising is how slow the thing is for even basic tasks like accessing the internet. Doing work feels like stepping back to a processor from 1999 or 2000. Windows 8 is not quite so painful when you can use touch, but the surface itself? Not so good. I don't think I have "chubby" fingers, but without a stylus I feel l like I have to practically put a hole through the screen to click. I wanted to like the Surface, but it appears this is going to be a dust collector. Good concept from MS, but pretty poor execution.

Not Entertaining
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this today. I have a windows 8 computer so i was hoping i would like this aswell. I was wrong and will be returning it tomorow for an ipad. Its not entertaining because there are barely any apps. The product is overpriced for what it has to offer.

I love my RT, it is very fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet works great I choose this over the dell pro 8. I have the hard keyboard and this this is great for taking notes, and writing papers. I view a lot of internet videos on this tablet. I have not had any issues with it. It has a tough body frame, I have dropped it a few times and its fine. The sound volume is much better than I was lead to believe by some other reviews.

Not the best tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet has been a disappointment. It was to replace an iPad. This is slower then the older iPad, the apps are very limited, many of the apps bog down or stop working, the accessories for it are very limited. I would not purchase this again.
