I purchased this tablet to use as a kiosk for our business. Standard apps don't work, because Android isn't supported and neither are Windows apps (they're made for the full version of Windows, which isn't on this less expensive Windows tablet). Explorer seems to be the only available browser, and it isn't possible to hide the navigation bar.

Great laptop/pad compact fast overall satisfied. It annoying I have to write a longer review.

In the beginning I was impressed but after using it I didn't like the fact that I was unable to use Desktop Apps all I could use was what was in the store and I didn't like that at all.

Huge limitations based on the Windows RT platform. If one wanted to get this simply for making it like a thin client, or to access something like a VMWare view environment, then it is ok. Outside of that, the complete general lockdown on the installation of software within Windows RT is a letdown, and the application store is not good enough.

At first I loved the Surface. I used it for Microsoft Word, but after trying it out a couple weeks, I noticed I was receiving virus notifications. Also, it was not as user friendly as a tablet. In addition, you have to purchase a keyboard separately to actually use Word effectively. I decided to return the item for a different product.

Works really well especially if used to the windows 8platform. A little clunkier than ipad

Finding out it won't work with plugins like most desktops and laptops of similar design.

Better stick with the ipad, the surface needs more apps !!!! and a better speaker system

Overall I would have been better off with a laptop

Previously had an IPad, thought this would be an upgrade. Poor app selection. Not dependable even with a personal hot spot device. Camera function not available most times. Games not dependable. Email functions very limited. Big mistake making this purchase.

I bought the Surface RT with some trepidation. I liked the idea of this tablet when I first read about it, but after reading reviews I was concerned that it would not meet my needs. I am a graduate student who also teaches classes, and I need a product that allows me to easily give PowerPoint presentations to students and colleagues and allows me to take notes during class. My major concerns were battery life, a lack of apps, and a lack of stability with the kickstand in my lap. This product was a pleasant surprise. *I can easily use this product in my lap with the kickstand out. It's not a laptop, but I'm quite comfortable using this on a plane or in a car. *I like the touch and the type keyboard very much. I prefer the type, but I own a touch as well and enjoy it. *The interface is snappy and far more powerful that I expected. I have a pretty full Windows experience, and (unlike some) I enjoy the Windows interface. *The app store is lacking, but apps are getting better every day. Since I primarily use this as a productivity device, I find myself consuming a lot of media on this (Facebook, Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc.) *I love the size of this thing. It is so easy to carry around. I find the iPad to be awkward and slippery to hold without a folio - not the Surface. *The SkyDrive integration/XBOX integration is FANTASTIC. Overall, this product meets my needs and surpasses my expectations. It's fantastic, light, cleverly designed, and high quality. I would recommend this product highly.

I bought this for my son's first computer. We read reviews and charged it overnight so it would be ready Christmas morning. Once we set it up we found we couldn't download apps. We go to Best Buy and spend over an hour at Geek Squad. The couldn't figure it out. They suggested a complete reboot at home to see if issue was fixed. Did full reboot and signed back in could download apps. Then the next day it stopped allowing me to get into app store. Best Buy exchanged it after Geek Squad couldn't fix it. Get new computer and the next day the keyboard went bad. Again went to Geek Squad spent over an hour to have to reboot computer. However my son lost all his games and levels. It breaks my heart because my son was upset due to the lost game data. My recommendation would be spend a little bit more and get another tablet. This has been nothing but trouble.

If I had to do over I would not buy . Downloading games I want cannot get .

32gb, except once you turn it on there is only 15gb available... What happened to the rest?! Super hard to use, windows 8 is terrible, had to fight with it to do anything I wanted, completely useless with no internet took it back after 2 days.

Slow browsing at times. Somewhat heavy to hold. Limited cases available.

I would not be even rating this had Best Buy backed up what they sell. 15 days is in no way a correct or fair amount of time to figure out if u will be able to use this as you would any other tablet. They wouldn't even listen just said its on ur receipt. Yes that and the fact I paid over $500 for this which I have all of 25 hours if that on it. Its not easy to use and unless u have Windows 8 on every computer your out of luck trying to sync. Something they don't say on advertising. Apps r below average and can't find the ones u do need. In fact I found more on my kindle than I have on this. When I asked if I could possibly exchange it. They said sure will give $145 towards whatever you want to change too. REALLY??? Why can't u just stand behind what u sell. Could it be that it isn't a good sell?
