I've used laptops for work for years and tablets and desktops at home as well. This device meets or exceeds all of my different form and function requirements. I wish my work would consider switching to the Surface vs. the HP laptops and IPads they hand out today. The only complaint I have with my Surface is that sometimes it locks up.

I have been using the SurfaceBook for a couple of months now and I can't believe how much it has helped me out. I am able to keep all my notes in order and the ability to scan documents by simply using the camera is a very good feature to have. I would recommend for anyone needing a good powered laptop to invest in a SurfaceBook.

Beautiful design, but I'm not sure the "fulcrum" connecting the base with the tablet is the best choice. The specs are good, but you have to keep in mind that you are paying a premium for the quality of the overall product and the beautiful display. If you care more about specs, another laptop may be a better choice.

Surface book is awesome, fast, and easy to set up.

The hi res display is amazing with the perfect brightness! Build quality is very good! Lots of ports!!!!! Battery life is better than most in real world usage! Sound quality could be better :( The hinge diesnt open enough :( Touchpad can be too sensative :( Overall this is an amazing mechine.

I was not sure if wanted to break away from Apple. I have been using Apple products for over 20 years. But the idea of a Tablet and Laptop in one was very appealing to me. This way I did not have to carry a laptop and an Ipad pro. I am in love with my surface and the photo editing that I am able to do.

We purchased 4 of these tablet and love them. They are perfect for our marketing goals. The only drawback is that one of the pens has already had to be replaced after only 4 months of use. Microsoft had us do some troubleshooting, and ended up having to replace it - which was a pretty easy process overall.

Crashed on me during first boot. Do not like the locking mechanism.

Yes it is expensive but everything about this machine is great. The look, Screen, touch pad and keyboard are best among peers. This is a laptop that can turn tablet not the other way around; Once the sceen is detached u loose on battery power and dgpu support. One more con of the SB is lack of ports.

This may not be a gaming laptop, but to my amazement the graphics and ram can keep up with my heavy online gaming. I originally bought this product so I could have a nice machine for my writing and art. It more than delivers on its promises. The pen and touch screen are very responsive, too.

The surface book is a good hybrid laptop/tablet. Personally to use the tablet portion is a little big for my taste but functionality is perfect. When closing the tablet there is a small gap in between the screen and the keyboard which annoys me. Hopefully the next generation will fix this design problem.

The computer itself is great. However, the processor could not keep up with running InDesign and Illustrator at the same time. I had to upgrade to the i7 processor and it works much better. It all depends on what you are trying to do.

I enjoy the touch screen greatly, especially the fact that when the stylus I'd choose to the screen, I can rest my hand on the screen for more stability. As a tablet, it's heavier than I expected so I find I don't use the tablet function as often. Great processing power though.

Just bought this laptop for our son who will be attending UW - Madison in the fall. He should be able to use it until he graduates but so far it has been great. He uses it now for finishing up scholarship applications, watching HD content, and, of course, video games.
