Simple adapters may be a better solution

Ultimately, I found this dock to be heavy, bulky and not really as useful as I had hoped - that said, it is meant to be used as a stationary dock. I returned the item for a couple of easy to carry adapters that convert display port to hdmi and USB to a couple more USB. This suits my needs better. To each their own.

Cable management, easy access side panel, builtin fan on the bottom. Definitely would buy again.

Too buggy for the price

The design of not having an HDMI or DP connection is not great, and requires you to go buy another accessory to link to an external display. The cable I use works fine when plugged into the USB-C port on the side of the Surface Pro 9, but when I plug it into the dock, Windows complains about not having enough power (the dock has an external power supply!) and the video signal drops out occasionally.

The usb-c 3.1 gen2 speeds are a welcome addition. My only complaint is that this thing is heavy and not very portable. It doesn't just live at my main workstation, so I have to pack up both bricks(which are both heavy) and all the chords every time I move with it.
