I have 4k monitors and the refresh speed is a tad slow for the dock. So ill get a 3-4 second screen black out after a few hours of work. Overall awesome connection, its a minor issue as im sure I can figure the problem out.

I absolutely love this docking station. I wanted to be able to plug in at home so it's like I have a desktop. So nice to be able to unplug and go if needed but come back and plug in for a full set up. Easy to use and a USB C to HDMI adapter works perfect on my monitors. I feel like I have a desktop again and I have inputs for USB and USB C. It has a ethernet port so now I can be wired for the full speed this computer can download at. I got an open box item so it was much cheaper which is even better. I'd recommend this for anyone that has a surface pro and wants a desk set up outside of the tablet function.

I work from home and use this to extend my display to two other monitors! Love that it gives me the ability to connect to more than 1 monitor and love the extra USB ports! It is quite pricey, but it was on sale when I purchased it :)

Having a Surface for over 5 years, I’ve always used the surface dock that I place my surface info. This is different because it’s just a simple plug in. Honestly, there are many other less expensive alternatives to use if I just wanted to have more USB ports or to use a 2nd screen, but my surface has a case to protect it. All the other usb extensions requires for my surface to have no case. This is the only solution that allows me to use the power adaptor instead of having to plug into the video/usb port on my surface. This device works well but I still think it’s way to expensive (about 10 - 20% of the cost of the surface itself) for what it does.

$250 for a dock is very expensive, regardless of what features it offers. this dock somewhat makes up for it, however, by offering 2 usb c ports with displayport compatibility, 2 more with charging passthrough, 2 usb a ports, and an ethernet and 3.5mm adapter. all of this while being a longer (and faster charging) cable than the included charger make this a worthwhile upgrade UNLESS you need sd card expansion, as this has none

I purchased this but unfortunately had to return it because its for a mac pc. The return was easy but while i had it open i can tell the quality of the product was great and i was sad to depart with it. I do wish it would've been compatible. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because its only meant for one brand.

Don't have many choices when it comes to Docking Stations for surfaces. That said, works well without any problems. Will work with all the newer models. Make sure your surface model works with this version.

Purchased this on a price match from Microsoft at $170..not sure if it’s worth the original price of $250, but definitely a steal for the sale price. Works great with my Surface 2.

I came into the store with a photo of the Surface Docking unit that was no longer working and asked for assistance. I was led right to the item on the shelf I needed and we discussed changing it out. I was super pleased with the customer experience and very happy my home office setup was back up and running 20 minutes after returning home.

This Surface Dock is solid. It provides you with plenty of power, multiple ports to connect to your PC or charge. It's a bit bulky for travel, but otherwise its very solid.

Very high quality and easy to use. I didnt read the description properly to see the HDMI hookup was usb-c but once I bought the correct cords it works great. I take my surface pro between work and home, having no interuption or gliches in my ability to work.

This is the perfect companion to my Surface Pro 9. Allows me to connect multiple monitors and peripherals. I have two 34” ultrawide monitors connected along with my ethernet connection and setup is a breeze. I also have a Surface Dock 4 and prefer the built in connector in the Surface Dock 2.

THIS is the dock that SHOULD have been made available with the Surface Book 2. The power supply alone finally has enough power to keep the laptop charged when really cranking on the GPU/doing graphics-heavy work. I had loads of trouble keeping external drives connected AND charging the laptop using the previous generation dock, and even had to use the on-board USB-C for video out because the displayport on the dock just couldn't keep up. Dock V2 seems to have solved a lot of those issues. We'll see how it holds up over time, but so far, this is a much better-built dock.

I purchased this for my Surface Book 3, and it works exactly as expected for this device. One pleasant surprise is that it works for my old Surface Pro 4 (Core m3 model) despite being advertised as not compatible. With the Surface Pro 4 I was able to test 4k 60hz output with DisplayPort and it works perfectly. The USB ports work as well (although I'm guessing they only function at 5gbps speeds - I only have USB 3.0 devices to test). It also shows that it is charging the SP4, but I don't know what charging wattage it's supplying. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

Disappointing Performance & Poor Customer Service

I purchased the Surface Dock 2 to connect external monitors to my Surface Laptop, expecting a seamless experience. Unfortunately, it has been anything but reliable. From the beginning, the connection was unstable, frequently dropping the signal and getting progressively worse over time. After less than 30 days of use, it became clear that the device was faulty. I reached out to Microsoft Support, and they agreed to send me a replacement. I promptly returned the defective unit, and my UPS tracking confirmed that Microsoft received it. However, instead of sending my replacement, they closed my case without fulfilling their promise. After multiple follow-ups, Microsoft assured me they would rectify the situation, but I am still waiting for a resolution. While the concept of the Surface Dock 2 is great, the poor reliability and frustrating customer service experience make it hard to recommend. If you’re considering this dock, be aware that you might face similar issues with performance and support.
