With this product, this gives you many more options for connection. Very easy to set up.

I've had for 2 years, it's clunky to travel with and too many possibilities of disconnects while you think it's charging. There has to be a better way. I can say it charges, 5 stars for that reason only, the other issues makes it too bothersome to suffer.

If you are going from the original docking station to the dock to keep in mind that the monitor hook ups are seaport and not USB.

I have plugged into it two monitors, a web cam, a wired headset, and the USB Bluetooth dongle for my wireless keyboard and mouse. The Surface Dock 2 also powers my Surface Book 3. I am able to use all 3 monitors (2 regular monitors and the laptop monitor). The only connection from the Surface Dock 2 to my laptop is the power cable providing power to the laptop and communications with the other devices connected to the Dock. Great job Microsoft!

It's nice that it charges the laptop as well so that the regular charger cable can be ready for travel.
