Upgrade from the Surface Dock 1 I have at work. Does what it sets out to do.... Nothing particularly exciting about this model besides the longer Surface Connector thing......

It worked out great as a docking station but It is missing the HDMI port for the extra monitor

I had a lot of trouble with getting the display output to work with my Surface Pro 7. I would have to reboot or reset the display settings to get the output. The surface would report that the display is enabled but nothing on-screen. Unfortunately there isn't really other options that uses the proprietary magnet charge/data port. When it DID work it was a decent experience. The network port makes the surface a lot more flexible.

Just what I needed to make my Surface become the replacement for my 17" Toshiba Laptop. Was able to easily connect to a 20.7" HP Monitor and the additional ports allow for charging options, etc.

My old dock was not compatible with the new surface but this one gets the job done. I just wish it had different ports. Had to buy too many adaptors to get all the equipment to work.

So far has worked wonderfully without screen or device issues.

Surface Dock 2 works well. I don't like that it doesn't have a traditional USB port but the USB-C is what everyone is moving towards so it's not too much of a problem.

This is great for our small business to help staff have larger screens at their desk and use their surface pro 8s in the field and on the go!

A must buy for any surface book user. Does have minor issue like the charger is used to connect it to the surface book, but other than that it serves its purpose.

With a Surface Pro 7 took some time to configure correctly with two monitors. Using a QHD and a full HD monitor both monitors are 144hz. I had to reconnect several times until I could get into the menu to reduce both monitors to 60hz. After set to 60hz it operated well.

I bought several of these and not sure if i got a bad one but one of them did not work very well. I took it back and bought another one and so far no issues.

Durable. Cords is of an appropriate length. Works as expected.

1. For Surface Laptop 3 and it’s unbelievably cheapo single USB-C connection - no question, you need this so include 275 in your laptop budget. Apple gives you 4, seriously MSFT, what the actual F? 2. It’s expensive 3. Super annoying placement of USB ports - where a wide USB-key style dongle like my Atomos video converter takes up two ports, rendering one useless and requiring an additional third-party hub for my other standard USB transmitters (keyboard and mouse)

This is a great dock. My only wish is that it had more USB ports. Having a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard takes both ports and leave me no room to add anything else.

handy thing to have if you buy a Surface. Leave this on your desk and pack original in travel bag. Makes all monitor/keyboard/printer/network connections with one plug to computer

All works well. My only minor complaint is external monitors take a few seconds longer to come on than main screen.

Works perfectly. Convenient to examine unit in store prior to buying to verify suitability.

works as described, quality build. However for the price I think they shouldve included a standard hdmi port so that there is no need to buy a USB 3.0 to hdmi cable.

The surface dock 2 has been very useful with all my peripherals attached. Even the rj46 cable connection for my direct connect to my router worked like a charm
