The Best Buy sales rep was not aware of this requirement. The adapter I bought did not work. I had to exchange it for the cable. Works great once you get the right support.

We have purchased so many of the Dock 2’s (at our offic) and have so many issues attaching multiple screens. We didn’t have issues until we decided to upgrade. Kind of disappointing…

This was not the case. This item was loose in a Plastic Zip Lock Bag. It looked like something you would pay the cheapest price on Ebay for - not what you would get for a premium price that has Best Buys 'Excellent' criteria. So beware of this. They are not always holding to the criteria stated on thier Web site for 'Condition'.

Nothing more than a paperweight if you want to do three, especially with the Surface Laptop line. Not really much of an upgrade over previous model. Disappointed.

Display issues where the monitor will not wake from sleep. Well known issue dating back at least a year. Multiple posts on their community and reddit...replacement does not fix, nor does updating. Tried with multiple surface devices, monitors, and cables. Firmware bug which they refuse to acknowledge. Along with that USB devices constantly reconnect intermittently.

After connecting to my 2 LG monitors I found this dock would not support 60hz refresh rates - highest is 30hz which my existing monitors do not support. I returned this dock and purchased the 1st generation because it had display ports and worked with my existing monitors.

Like another reviewer said, if you want a $200 usb hub, THIS IS IT! i have a brand new surface 8, with 2 brand new identical 24" monitors. One monitor will go black with no video input at random times of 15 minutes to 2 hours. you have to unplug that monitor from the dock, and plug it back in. it'll work for a time. also, the video quality driving the monitors is sometimes shaky, and blurry... unplug from the dock, and replug, all is well for another bit of time. oh, but i must've gotten a bad dock right? well i thoughts so too... got a replacement, same issues. thinking maybe these docks just sucked at driving usb c, i then went and bought "active" usb c - hdmi adapters to use the hdmi inputs on my monitors. No joy. same problems. don't buy these, go get a Targus... no problems, and ive used them for years.
