The android side cancels out everything painstakingly entered, and Microsoft side reciprocates! You cannot simply call or text someone. And,it got the google hack game sent to it,and now all my entries are hacked! DONT BUY THE DUO! TOTAL WASTE OF $999.00!!!!!

Faulty device out of the box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was really eager to get mine on launch day only to find out during setup that the right side was completely unresponsive to touch. Now I get to return it today and wait more days to get replacement due to local store having no inventory. I really doubt that was due to blowout sales either.

Surprised very few improvements needed for 2nd add
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had my eye on this since announced several months ago. The build quality is better than any other device I have owned. Yes, there are still some software refinements required, but am confident Microsoft will address them in a timely manner. After a brief learning curve it has been a joy to use. Positives Battery life has been much better than expected. Dual screen multitasking is wonderful Note taking is great Video chats are excellent Room for improvement Camera quality is disappointing and software updates can make it better but not up to flagship standards. Maybe Microsoft can enlist some pixel engineers to work their magic. Next generation really needs to address this even if keeping the same thickness restraints. Bezels reduction to the hinges would be nice is next generation. Add higher refresh rate for next generation. Speaker is pretty bad. Next generation should add three and improve overall sound with added bass and lose tinnyness. Add outside notifications in next generation. Perhaps by color is the Microsoft logo. That would be great! Overall great device and disagree with most of the negative "professional" reviews. It will be my daily driver until Duo 2 is released. Nice job Microsoft!

Disregard early reviews
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The early reviews scared me from buying this device, in fact I went to Best Buy twice to play with the phone and the 2nd time I did the phone kept freaking out when I pulled up Craigslist on Chrome, but after many times I've wished I had a 2nd screen to be more efficient when doing tasks I figured I would try it out and I didn't like it I would return it. I'm assuming by the time I got mine they addressed some of the issues, compared to the "EXPERT reviewers". Yeah there are little things that tweak out or get funky but no more then my old Pixel 3 with Android 11 running on it. I could go into great detail about things about the phone, but if you value the ability to have a 2nd screen available over a nicer camera (Yeah the camera is bad.. Hopefully software updates help it) then don't hesitate. I'm never going back to a single screen phone again!

Good overall device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The surface duo is a sleek device that does what is was designed to do. I definitely enjoy the dual screens apps and microsoft apps that were added. This device was not intended to rival iphones or other flagship phones. It is very good at multi-tasking and good for basic phone and camera needs. I had no problem with lagging software or bugs. Android 11 should straighten those issues out in the near future. I recommend this device for people who want something different that will take care of their mobile need.

Such a game changer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This needs to be said. The Surface Duo: you really either get it or you dont. You definitely dont “get it” right away but in order to realize how amazing this device is you have to take the $1500 plunge. Dont you dare think about the 128GB model as this unit is getting monthly updates for at least 3 years. That will definitely tax your storage eventually. Ive had mine for a week now and Im sold. The ability to multitask is great and yes, single screens multitask but the two screen experience will blow you away. Little things like Google Authenticator opening in its own screen so you can enter your two step authentication password. Or browsing Reddit and clicking on a photo to have it open on its on page. The flow is what this device is all about. I had a unique use case come up that blew me away. I was video chatting with my daughters using Google Duo on the top screen and playing multiplayer Roblox with them on the bottom screen at the same time. One time while in the game I got a text message and was able to reply all while keeping the chat and game active. The Duo switched the video chat to a floating PIP and let me reply to my text and once done I was right back in the game. Another case is Windows 10 remote desktop. I was able to use Photoshop to adjust a photo then email the edited photo to my Duo. Windows remote desktop is an experience in itself. You literally have a tiny laptop! Fold the Duo to single screen and your aspect ratio is so much better viewed than a narrow single screened phone. Letters look better, websites look fuller, the keyboard is easier to use... I could go on. The postures! They are so useful. Tent mode is excellent for an alarm clock or a movie. Little laptop mode I use a ton because you get a very nice keyboard and can switch the location of your app to either screen. The hinge is the perfect level of stiffness every time. Take the plunge.

Great & beautiful product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product and phone for multitasking, very thin and fits very nicely while holding it. Capturing notes between work email and one note... You can open these two apps on the same time end of the day to build up your work experience... Or you can open Salesforce and email to update your opportunities... Same thing to fill your time sheets.... On sport you can watch highlights while checking the lineup or checking a player history. Several useful app combinations as you like

Wait for the second gen.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft has never had any reputation in the smartphone market, besides being bad. Looking back on the Microsoft Kin phones, the Microsoft phones, they were bad. This is a modernized version of that. The hinge and thin body are probably the best part of this device. The battery is impressive for the 3400mah battery that is inside of it. It lasts all day, just charge it at night. But the software is so laggy and bug-ridden. Its a cool concept with questionable execution. I'd say wait until the second gen of this device. If you want a good phone with Microsoft integration, grab yourself a fully fledged Samsung phone. If you're planning on buying this, you should have the money to buy the Note 20 Ultra anyway. Grab that instead.

Incredible new form factor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned my surface duo for 2 months now. Before buying it, I read lots of reviews. For the most part, they really missed the mark. They talked about the older processor, the poor camera, and the software glitches. But, they typically missed how AMAZING this device is to use day in and day out. The clear #1 thing people do with their phones is consume content. This device absolutely dominates in this area. Within 1 week of using this phone, I knew I would never go back. This form factor is absolutely the future. The cameras will catch up, the processors will improve, and most of the software glitches have already been solved. The day-in and day-out use just rocks. Some oher nice things include: 1. Massive home screen where I can have my email widget, my calendar widget, my audible widget, and can launch all of the apps I care about. 2. Keeping context when opening an additional app on the other screen. 3. It is a stunning, show-stopping device when you pull it out of your pocket in front of other people.

Traded Note 20U for this, and very, very happy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To keep it short, I am simply happy that I took the chance and switched! It took this device to show me what Samsung had gotten away from. Meant of the issues I've seen reported, I haven't experienced, as the updated received have ironed out the majority of problems. There is, every once in a blue moon a hiccup, but the experience is much better on this device than my notes. As to that, the dual screens with the pen, are what Samsung originally had, but decided to follow Google and Apple, and dummy down features. No, the pen isn't as smart as the s pen, but for the core function it works well. I miss my air controls, but then, I am able to finger print read instantly, and my music app is there for me to switch instantly(broken feature on the note 20), or, just got the power button and switch tunes.. Overall, good product IMHO and experience..
