I couldn't be happier with my purchase of this Surface Go 8 GB with keyboard attachment. I went with this new bundle deal to save $70 from buying the keyboard and tablet separately. It is the silver Alcantara model keyboard that is in this bundle.
So far, I've updated the tablet to the 1903 version of windows 10 home after ditching the s mode because I want to install programs that aren't in the windows store.
Regarding the size/weight of the tablet it's a 10 inch that weighs a pound or so without the keyboard attached and is weighted perfectly for one handed use. With keyboard attached it's a slight bit heavier, but not cumbersome and works great. I really do like the keyboard.
I bought this bundle and the surface pen separate for doing work with the pen. It was very easy to pair the pen to the tablet and get to writing. I use the pen most often with one note and it's a smooth experience. Couldn't be happier.
Regarding the Go, I got the 8 GB model with 128 GB of storage. So far with all tasks it's running great and no stutters or slow down with usage. I was worried about doing tasks with only 4 GB of Ram so very pleased this bundle came with the 8 GBs. I probably wouldn't have bought if it were only 4GB. Though from what I've read the 4 GB model runs flawlessly, but I didn't want to chance it. Plus you get double the storage with this model.
I'll be doing a lot of web browsing, note markups and other light productivity tasks with this along with streaming videos. I doubt I'll bother trying to game with it at all.
The screen/display is very bright and crisp. Images look spectacular on this display from what I've seen and have not been disappointed.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase and would recommend this tablet to a variety of users for all sorts of tasks. Just not gamers.
If you're on the fence is say go for it. I think you'll be pleased with your purchase.

I was on the fence as I have had 2 LG Tablets for the past 6 years. I also do have a Lenovo Laptop. The need to have the best of both worlds to combine in the Microsoft Go. I did get the combo with the 128GB and Keyboard. I have had this now for a month. It literally does everything my laptop does and yet the portability of a tablet. The screen resolution makes up for the 10in screen. Plays Youtube great. Can use the Microsoft office with no slow down in performance. I do get about 4 hours of battery time thou. But it charges very quickly. Plus it offers additional storage in memory card. If you were like me on the fence. Its well worth the few extra hundred dollars vs a tablet and get this Microsoft Go

This is just what I was looking for something compact with options for word, PowerPoint and some web surfing. I’m so happy I found it for a great price on Bestbuys site.

Love the size of the laptop/tablet. It’s the same size as my iPad Pro but almost 1/2 the price. Love the magnetic power cord. No more damage to the cord or laptop due to tripping on the cord. It’s light weight and easy to use as a tablet without the keyboard or as a laptop with the keyboard. Wish it had a couple of USB ports instead of just one usb-c port but I’m sure it’s to conserve power. Which it does very good job of doing. Watched a 2 1/2 movie and played on the internet on a trip last week and still had 1/2 battery left. I would recommend a Bluetooth mouse to save the usb-c port for something else.

The whole backbone of surfaces is that they are this laptop/tablet hybrid. Personally I believe that tablets should just require one hand to hold comfortably. That’s the biggest pro of the surface go, how light and portable it is. For any sort of student, this can truly be your one of all devices to do everything. I have heard a lot of backlash on the processor it has, but it does get the job done. If you’re not planning on doing anything outside of causal web browsing, streaming media, and light work then this computer will do you just fine. This could be your secondary computer (great backup) or in my case your primary. The build of the device feels great as well, overall great product!

For me, this is the best Surface you can buy. I know, critics talk about the processor but that's the reason the battery lasts all day. I like the smaller form factor, like an iPad but way more productive. If you decide to pick one of these up, get the pen and an additional micro SD cart for extra storage. I added another 256 GB shortly after I purchased it and still have plenty of extra storage. Also, upgrade to Windows 10 Home...free from Microsoft. I mainly use this for API scripts and have no issues to date. Definitely consider this if you are looking for a nice laptop in a smaller form factor.

I am a 2nd year PhD student and if there is one thing I learned most my first year is the importance of organization and time management. This surface go is a real game changer for me. I bought this tablet to help me stay organized between school, research and work. Before I had random sticky/ scrap paper notes scattered all over my work office and apartment from classes, meetings, and research. It drove me crazy and the thought of having to sort through them later was daunting.. so I use the surface go along with office 365 to keep all my notes, documents, and presentations in the same location and accessible between devices. What is so great about this is its VERY lightweight(why I went with the go and not the pro), so I can keep my heavier laptop at my office desk and then bring this around to classes and coffee shops. I love being able to take notes on it with the Microsoft surface pen too, keeping all of my notes from various meetings, classes and topics in one place is much more efficient and means less paper and heavy notebooks to haul (I have a 30 minute walk to school!). It also means I am more likely to take a look at my notes when they are stored in a more convenient way. With office 365 you can access all your documents from any device which gets rid of the fear of putting all your eggs in one basket - I don't have to worry about losing all my notes! I keep them all in OneNote. If you do not own any other devices and are looking to purchase this as your main desktop work device for school, I'd go with the Surface Pro instead as the screen of the Go is a bit small and is meant for more on the "go" use.

If you are expecting a laptop replacement, the surface go is not for you. There, so now that is out of the way lets get to what this thing does well.
Much more robust than an android or ipad tablet. This is replacing my Fire HDX 8.9 which died last year, I am finishing up a masters degree and needed something I could read all of my digital books on. The surface go does a great job of that. The windows store is a little lacking, so after switching it out of ST mode was able to begin downloading all of the programs i needed. The screen is adequate enough for what I need it for. The sound is good enough. The price which included the keyboard was great too. I can't complain, I would definitely make this purchase again. I was afraid performance would be like the netbooks of old (kind of what this is), but it has been very smooth and snappy. I run Logos Bible software for school and preaching, this tablet/laptop handles it with no problem, in fact, it runs better than my previous laptop- 2013 Dell Lattitude with an i7 processor. I currently have a dell precision and the surface go is a great companion device that can do tablet-like things when I need it to, or quick productivity things when the need arises. Very portable.

I chose to go with a Surface instead of an iPad to have the ability to manage my tablet like a PC. For example, having easy access to managing files outside of apps.
I found the battery life to be exceptional and it easily lasted a day of moderate use. I typically stream music and do some light web browsing while reserving my work PC for the "heavy" work.
The keyboard is easy to type on and has a very good quality to it.
I have yet to have any issues with updates.
The only negative I would say is this: This can not play games very well. It lacks the horsepower to run most modern games and there are only a small fraction of applications designed for it. Unlike iOS where most games get an "Apple port" to run well on those devices, the Surface is essentially a PC with low specs, so it cannot run most modern games at all.

Does everything I want it to do with most any Windows business applications. Great keyboard. It's not for gaming, or intense graphics programs, but it is a solid solution. Haven't found anything comparable with a 10" screen, which was my primary consideration. My only concern is that the battery life is only around 5-6 hours, and that might be an issue for an all day unplugged assignment such as for a full class day or a cross country airline trip without access to a power port.

This little computer gets the job done. The size and form factor make it a great companion for your daily activities. I can handle not only the basics (email, web browsing, research, etc) but it can also handle heavy apps like photo shop and video editing apps. The fact that you can plug in a power brick is great as this will allow for you to be away from an outlet for hours; awesome if you are on a plane!!! Just get it and make sure you load full Windows (its free) :o).

I love my surface go! But it does have its ups and downs. First recommendation is get out of S mode. You can upgrade to Windows 10 home for free by accessing the Microsoft Store. You can also upgrade to Pro if you have the key. It does have its limits being a dual core processor, but it’s actually surprised me a lot! I also love the portability with this tablet, you can take it anywhere and it doesn’t take much space! Second recommendation: buy a high storage SD card and high speed rate. I always had luck with SanDisk Extreme Plus SD cards.

Exactly what I was looking for in a tablet/ laptop and this does the trick, it is compact but large enough that it has a manual qwerty keyboard which helps for typing any forms or documents and also connects easily to any network and has a fast download rate and makes it easy to upload to a printer when needed, doubles for a nice TV in bed.
I would recommend this to anyone in need of a compact notepad with a keyboard.

This is my second surface. It's great! I can bank, pay bills, email, and play games all from the comfort of my easy chair! It is small and light, making it easy to hold. I recommend the surface for those who want to do more on a tablet than play games.

I wanted a device that I could bring with me as I traveled. I still own a traditional laptop that I can break out for a larger keyboard, bigger screen, more power, etc., but I love how light and flexible this device is. It adds so little weight to my backpack when I'm on the "go." And while the keyboard is a bit cramped for someone with bigger hands, it's not unusable by any means, especially if it's really just for some casual browsing, light work or productivity along the way.
The device does have lower specs than its Pro counterparts, but I haven't had any issue with Office, streaming or browsing applications thus far. Plus, the more modest specs allow for really solid battery life, too.
The biggest thing to note is that this comes with Windows 10 in S Mode standard. S Mode is designed to lock your system to only allow apps from the Windows Store (i.e., you wouldn't be able to install Chrome). I personally love using Edge and have no need for a wide variety of apps on this device (that's what my other laptop is for), but if you're absolutely dead-set on using another program that's not available in the store, you can easily upgrade to Windows 10 without S Mode (there's no cost to doing this, and you can always revert back later).

I have a suface pro that I love but sometimes I need something smaller. The Surface Go looked perfect. I am spoiled by the fast processor on the Pro but the Go does the job. It's not meant for hard labor.
