Great product; battery life still an issue

Keyboard if very user friendly; but, I have no idea how Microsoft even thinks about >10 hours of battery life. I can only get 7. OK for me, but beware of claims that appear to be a bit of a stretch. Best Buy support was also very good; prompt and delivered as promised.

Superb laptop

Incredibly light and a very solid build. Exactly what I was looking for to phase out my older 17" laptop, which was quite bulky. Looking forward to getting a ton of use out of this premium laptop!

These normally ship with windows 10 s but the upgrade to windows 10 pro is now free simple go to the windows store and upgrade to pro. The battery lasts about 7 hours of use.

Best Buy had a great price on the Gen 1 at $699. Very easy set up. Love the face recognition and Win 10 seems to run faster on it than other PCs I’ve used. Probably maximized by Microsoft for this hardware configuration. Overall, very satisfied.

The fuzz on the keyboard was a nice touch and made it comfortable to type; however, the keys to me felt cheap. The touchscreen was a fun addition, but it was almost pointless since the paptop does not convert into a tablet. I ended up buying a Macbook Pro instead, but I did like this laptop and would recommend it to anyone that does not want to spend as much.

Nice machine, very fast and beautiful display.

It is very fast to boot up, and I love the touch screen. Also purchased a logitech wireless mouse, and a j5 create hub. Plan on purchasing a usb dvd drive,and a usb hard drive. My machine has 256 gb storage. Very fast, I recommend this over the 128 gb. I would do it over again. Still getting used to win10, but I stared using win10 at work also. It's not a problem to catch on fast.

Mac quality, PC price

I built my own desktop at one point, but anytime that I had bought a PC it was a Sony Vaio; they just seemed to do it right and pioneer innovation. However, in recent years I have been lured and pleased with my experiences with apple (ipod, ipod video, multiple generations of iPhone, apple watch). Now that Sony is no longer manufacturing PCs I was at a dilemma. Other than sony, no other PC stands out as a quality product, historically speaking. I decided that if a PC, I would buy Microsoft hardware and software to ensure that everything worked well together. This was influenced by how wonderfully apple products work, but since they do it so well I really considered switching to Apple. I decided to go Microsoft because I got more bang for my buck and I'm pleasantly surprised. Windows 10 for a dated system may be bad, but Windows 10 for hardware supplied by the same company is definitely a good thing. I have power, style, and economy in one package. I'm sold on Windows hardware.

But I feel like Microsoft charges a premium for looks with not so great specs. It does have 8gb of ram and 256gb of storage, but you could buy a Dell with the same specs for hundreds less. What you're paying for is the design, the brand and the Microsoft support. You just have to ask yourself if that's worth it to you?

My only other complaint is the amount of HD storage, 256 GB, however, you can get larger for a larger price tag. This was already $1,300 so I opted to use 1 Terabyte of storage that comes with Office 365...Overall, I'm pleased, I'm not sure there any perfect solution.

Now that you are up and running, its great to hear you were able to set up OneDrive for additional storage in the cloud. OneDrive can support endless assets so you won't need to worry about filling up your SSD.

Nice form factor but needs improvement

I think the keyboards on the Surface Book and the Huawei Matebook are much better. The trackpad is not very good. The processor is fast enough for my needs. In addition I am not too sure how the alcantara finish on the laptop will wear over the long term.

It turns on very fast and the speed for all internet research is fast. The only thing I wish is that it came with all Microsoft programs already on it. You do have to buy separate but the sales person gave us that info up front! Very happy with our purchase.
