Laptop is very good and has a high end feel like an Apple product but ended up reinstalling Windows as it did not work correctly on initial start. Several other has also experienced this issue.

This laptop is quick and quiet. Setup was very simple.

Love the sleek design and it feels rugged. Everything was fine with this machine until my dog spilled 1 inch of beer on the keyboard. Soon thereafter the keyboard was malfunctioning and now it won't turn on. The biggest issue is that you cannot open the machine. Go to the ifixit video and you will see that it gets a 0 out of 10 stars for repair-ability. I wish I had looked at this video before I purchased it. Microsoft offers a repair/replace option for $450.

for the most part this has been a great thin laptop. I have had some software issues with it. I also find the touch-pad pretty irritating, it always skips your cursor to other places when typing. Otherwise I really like it.

I got this for least than a year and the battery life is suck last me for less than 6 hour of first use .Got it replace for free but still rather not because I use less than a year. However the computer is really good.

Its a good laptop overall, but it comes with too much security, and the battery charger stopped working with only 10 months of use.

After been a mac user for so long I decided to give windows a try, it wasn't easy due to the fact that there are lots of great choices in windows world to choose from, so I had to do some research to find my MacBook pro replacement and I nailed it with the Surface laptop, It is on par or just above apple built quality, it takes some time getting used to windows but it's actually very simple, windows 10 worked great from the start but after getting some updates it's even better fast and fluid all the time nothing I usually use has slowed it down at all , just out of curiosity I opened edge browser with 9 open tabs in four of them I ran youtube "4k" streams simultaneously while I ran excel, Spotify, mail, windows store and some other programs and the thing never slowed down one bit, touchpad works great, love windows hello.screen is great the touch screen is growing on me, battery life is awesome, so far I have no regrets and no complains about it. I will stick with Microsoft programs, mail, edge etc. on my Surface just like I did with my MacBook by only using apple programs to ensure smooth performance, I also switched to edge browser on my iPhone to synchronize my passwords and internet stuff. Also one more pro to consider is that the charging plug is magnetic which to me it's awesome I loved that on my MacBook pro and I hated it that apple did away with it in the newer macbooks.

It’s very versatile and easy and intuitive for moving from tablet to laptop mode. More standard memory would be helpful.

Unable to load security software purchased with laptop due to restrictions in installed version of Windows. Brought unit in to Geek Squad - they couldn’t install it either. Decided to return for credit. Disappointing - rest of unit was well packaged and high quality.

My new computer did NOT work at day 16 of course Best Buy didn’t help me. I returned it though Microsoft warranty.

Have this since July 2018 hardly used and today was working on it walked away went back got a orange seen called support nope 69.95 to help 4 months old. What a rip off and waste of 1,000 bucks

Purchased February 9, 2018. On December 29, 2020 learned from Geek Squad hard drive failure. Must be repaired by Microsoft. Actual failure occurred during early summer of 2020 - Pandemic, work, and other priorities prevented taking laptop in for diagnosis earlier. Have used Apple computers for 10+ years and never encountered this type of problem before (purchased 8 apple computers in that period). I do not recommend.

I am absolutely in love with my Microsoft Surface Laptop. I purchased the Cobalt Blue i5 Model and have had no issues. I am perfectly happy with Windows 10 S and have no need for programs. The Windows App store has improved with adding major Apps like Spotify and I know the store will continue to grow. If you do need to install full programs, you can get Windows 10 Pro for free until the end of the year. After that it will cost $49.00 which is still cheaper than the original License price of $199.99. Plus it comes with a free year of Office 365 personal!! The Surface Laptop is a beauty to behold and has everyone's head turning like it's an expensive car driving on the road. I have previously owned a Surface RT, Surface 2, Surface Pro 2, Surface 3 and currently own a Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book with Performance Base. I have to say though that the Surface Laptop has blown me away. Microsoft hit the ball out of the park with this one!! I totally recommended this device no matter where you purchase it from. Just a heads up, Plan on spending a bit more on an extended warranty as this device is not easily fixable. It will be worth it, trust me!

I use my laptop constantly for my work as a freelancer/personal assistant. I always have multiple browsers open using Google and creating Excel spreadsheets. My clients are impatient and want everything done very quickly. I needed a lightweight/portable laptop that started up instantly, was really fast and had good battery life. I just open my laptop and it instantly starts, I don't even have to type a password because of the facial recognition, and because of the great battery life, I rarely have to get out the cord and plug it in when I'm with a client. I have had no problem with waiting for things to load or waiting while my laptop restarts. It's so fast, I love it. And the touchscreen is just gravy. Both my husband and my main client (a mac user) have laptop envy and want to buy one. I couldn't be happier. Oh! And thank you to the Best Buy employee at the Fifth Ave location who sold me on this laptop. I was so worried that the i5 processor would be slow, but he was right, this laptop is fast and I absolutely love it.

Battery life wasn't good enough for me. Needs at least a 56Wh battery but I would prefer a 60Wh battery. Pros - Awesome screen. Looks great, touch works great, love 3:2 when not watching videos. I don't mind bars above and below when watching videos at all. - Very good speakers. Definitely better than most laptops. - Awesome keyboard. Great for typing and backlighting works great. Power button to left of del key which is on the top right of the keyboard. - Great touch pad Cons - Only a 48Wh battery. This is the only reason I returned the surface laptop I bought. I can't believe Microsoft did this. The leading ultra books have 60Wh batteries now. The older models have 56Wh batteries. - Very skimpy on ports. This didn't matter to me but will matter to many If the cons aren't a problem for you, you will love this machine.
