Not really a fan of touch screen lap tops. .I tend to type in ways that are always hitting the screen and taking me out of my program. Good computer just not for me.

A beautiful laptop. A bit pricey. Unfortunately, this laptop lacks even the most basic ports/connectivity. Even the single USB-A port is the older 3.0 variety.

      Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your honest experience with Surface Laptop 2. We're glad you're loving the sleek new look of this powerful device! We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with your choice of ports. We're always striving to listen to our customers, which is why we feel that the USB 3.0 is the best way for more people to be able to connect to the device. We will continue to listen to customers like you, as we appreciate your feedback. In the meantime, if you're looking to add a variety of ports to your device, you might be interested in checking out Surface Dock. With the Surface Dock, you get 4 additional USB 3.0 ports, a gigabit Ethernet port, a 3.5mm audio line out, and 2 Mini Display Port inputs. Find it at Best Buy here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-surface-dock-black/4561910.p?skuId=4561910.

    Great Laptop

I've owned a lot of PC and Mac laptops over the years and this one is among the best. I discounted getting one of these because of price but they went on sale and I decided to bite. It was worth it, extremely happy with the laptop and having now used it for a few weeks I'd do it again at the regular price. Build quality is exceptional and easily on par with any Mac laptops I've previously owned. The 3:2 screen, keyboard, track pad and the battery life are all outstanding. It's fast and light and seems to handle the workloads I throw at it fine (I'm not a student, using it in a professional capacity). There is a dock to go with it (surface dock) for using it at a desktop with dual monitors and a full keyboard and mouse. I have no regrets about buying this laptop, very much pleased with it, however I do have _one_ complaint. The Marvell wifi. I hope that Microsoft ditches it in the future, it's just not good. It works but I had some speed issues at first that I was able to resolve after tweaking some of the driver settings via Device Manager. Seems to do fine now but I'd rather just have an intel based wifi chipset. They work well, can't remember ever having to mess around with them to get them to perform. Others have complained about the Marevell Wifi, here's another. I hope the next surface branded device I own (there will be more) doesn't have that chip for Wifi.

When I bought this computer i was thinking on a normal use. My actual configuration is the PC+Dochinkg and 2 1080 Screens. The truth is that it’s not a good computer. It gets hot, the trackpad is the worst thing i have ever used. I bought it last Wednesday .. today is Monday and I’m seriously thinking in returning it back to the store.

    Terrible product

I received this laptop as a present from my wife in Christmas 2018. About 2 months ago, I started having issues with the proprietary power cord not making contact with the laptop. I contacted support and was told that the warranty expired in 2019. Now, I have owned many laptops and the power cords done just stop working after less than 2 years. The support person told me that I could send them the power cord and for $69 they would send me a new one. I need this laptop for work and I can’t afford to not being able to use for the time it takes for MS TO SEND ME A NEW ONE. My other alternative given by support was to buy a new one for $90 I questioned him if this was a known issue or if this would happen again after less than 2 years. You know what support did? He hanged on me. I would not recommend this product and will not buy another Microsoft product again. My advise is to stay away from anything MS. Apple here I come.

I bought this laptop for personal use. Bought it over a year ago but haven't used it that much since i use my desktop for work. However, one day the laptop stopped working and can't turn on. Its really hard to find a place to fix it since all repair places are afraid they might screw is further. Called Microsoft and they told me what they can do is replace it with a new one but i have to pay almost $500. In my opinion this not much used device shouldn't be in that situation. I have had many laptops over the years and didn't have any issue even after years of daily long hours usage. Microsoft should do a better job than this.

I bought it and it started to freeze out of the box. I was also getting errors when I was trying to update the software. Once when I restarted it, it got stuck on a boot loop and had to do a force restart. And no it was not my internet that was slow.

After 2 weeks with this device I’m left with disappointment I have a surface pro 4 tablet I’ve had for years and it started to overheat and is no longer under warranty so it was time to get a new porable computer my surface pro 4 has ran excellent up until now so I thought I would stay in the surface family. I purchased this surface laptop 2 on Black Friday to finally upgrade only to find that my surface pro 4 ran better than this brand new laptop... apps and programs would crash randomly without warning all the time deleting any progress made which my surface pro 4 could even achieve. Microsoft makes very nice products but they dropped the ball big time on this one.

There's an issue when I've had a computer for 3 weeks and the cursor/finger pad stops working. The driver also says the latest update has been installed. Prior to this purchase I had a surface pro and it just stopped turning on and now my new laptop doesnt even work properly. Microsoft computers are complete garbage. I do not recommend any of thier products and suggest looking at Dell or Asus.
