this laptop sucks

I purchased in March of 2022. It is November 2023 and it's no longer usable. The charging port is broken on the inside (do a quick google search on their charging ports and chargers, and you'll see there's ongoing issues with surface laptops because of the magnetic charging port). I spent $1,278.65 on this laptop and then add on another $250ish for the docking station. Went to Geek Squad at Best Buy in Melbourne FL and they looked at it and told me to go to microsoft.com to find best buy locations that could repair the charging port. I went online and found one in Orlando, Florida. I called that best buy and verified that they fix surface laptops in person and explained that it was more than likely the port as that is what Geek Squad stated. She said no problem - bring it in, they can fix same day. I drove over an hour to get there and the gal didn't even look at the laptop. She said I'd have to buy a new one, and that they don't fix laptops there. She said that my options are to send it off for 3-4 weeks at $599 but that I'd be better off buying a new laptop with black friday deals. My other option is to go through Microsoft.com, but when I select to send in, they want to charge $340 right off the bat. Then, if they cannot fix, they would send a refurbished one that might not be the same color or specs as the one I have. All in all terrible experience. I'm telling you, don't buy this laptop.

Overpriced junk

Runs very hot irrespective of whatever I'm doing on it, and I've had several issues with the operating system being buggy, despite it being updated to the latest version
