This was a replacement laptop for a 2014 Toshiba that I really liked and would still be using if it could have run the latest versions of Windows and Microsoft Office, but sadly, no. I LOVE this Surface! Little tricky using Google or Chrome, but there's a work-around. The keys have a nice touch; it's super light; super fast for my small business; and setting it up was a breeze. I like the fingerprint feature to log on and the magnetic power cord. Where's that been my whole life?!

I love this little thing! It's light, zippy, quiet, and doesn't get hot like most. I bought it for my college classes, and so far it's a beast.

The laptop is small and lightweight and easy to use. The touchscreen is a great feature. It has Windows 10 and Windows Security for virus and malware protection.

I bought this laptop because I'm impressed with Microsoft computers. What I didn't know about this particular laptop is how slick, fast, and light it is. It does everything I need a laptop like this to do. I work with students who have PC laptops and not macs, and this one does everything I need it to do with the students I work with. I don't think I could work as efficiently with my students without it. It's an amazing little machine which can carry a heavy load, which I very much appreciate.

While it small with its hard drive size, this machine still does great. if bought at the 549 price point. Its screen has a 3:2 ratio(1536x1024), so it makes working with documents and websites nicely, video playback will have bars, and optimize to 720p. If you need a larger screen, it will connect via USB-C using an adapter cable to DisplayPort or HDMI, or directly if your monitor can use it. That single USB-C can also charge the laptop, I recommend at least using a 45 watt charger, but it does come with its own surface charging brick. Sadly the one it includes, does not include the extra USB port on the charger, like it does on other surface models. The webcam is okay, however its better than anything at this price point on the market. I would describe this computer as the premium cheap computer, or a Windows competitor to the Chromebooks. Does support windows 11, but mine came with windows 10s. Make sure to do the free upgrade to windows 10 home at least, or windows 11 home, to get access to install applications outside of the Microsoft store. Once this machine has android application support on windows 11, it will be a great competitor to any similarly priced Chromebook. Hard drive space is small, and the windows install will take up about 32-40ish gigabytes. Recommend using a cloud service such as OneDrive or Google Drive to hold your files, or an external drive. Installing a larger internal is possible, but it's not a straightforward install, and plastic tabs can get damaged if not done properly. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operate fine, and I never had any issues yet with flaky connections, or dropouts. For a small, on the go laptop, this is great. Its battery life will last about 7-8 hours with screen brightness at 50% with basic computing tasks and videos, making it fine to leave the charger at home, or carry a small one if you need to charge. I use mine for some basic website front end development things. For the cons, the keyboard isn't backlit, so if you need to see the keys in the dark room it will be hard. I also wish it had one more usb port, a normal sized one or a usb-c.

Almost everything I was looking for in a new laptop! While many professional reviewers were knocking the screen resolution, I can honestly say it looks great to me. Colors look great and it gets quite bright, so bright that I don't have to have it on full brightness like my last laptop. In addition, the 3:2 aspect ratio is fantastic for web browsing and scrolling through documents. Keyboard is responsive and while it's a bit shallow, I can still type quickly and accurately. I'm probably in the minority, but I don't like a backlit keyboard, so it's a non-issue for me. I prefer to use a mouse, but the track pad is quite responsive, and I find myself using it more than I have on any other laptop. You can also open the computer with one hand and the bottom stays put. This speaks to the overall build quality, which is quite premium. Fingerprint sign on has also been reliable and accurate with only a time or two I had to reposition my finger on the power key. I would definitely recommend this over the base model, not just because of fingerprint sign on, but because this model is snappy and responsive with more RAM. The downsides? Not many for my use case, but I do wish the battery life was a bit better, but I do like the screen brighter. Also, full disclosure: I initially had the same model in Sandstone, but the power supply and/or the charging port didn't work properly. Easily exchanged it, but I had to go with the platinum color. Charging port works fine on this one (tip: you can also charge the laptop via the USB type-C port, which comes in handy). Overall, so far I would give this 4.5 stars, just due to the initial issue and somewhat disappointing battery life.
