same story different review. should've been usb C or an HDMI mini or standard HDMI port so we wouldn't need an adapter. But then they wouldn't make as much money on selling accessories on a $1-2k device. But the actual adapter itself works great. Much better than the wireless option, just not as convenient since you are now attached to something when the point of a surface is NOT to be attached.

Need a method to strap the usb to the adapter. Given it’s sometimes easy to pull monitor HMDI cable which causes a disconnect from surface and may require key strokes to reconnect with monitor

Easy to connect, and looks great on a 4K UHD TV...

Works as expected, would have been nicer if Surface end adapter was shaped to the curve of the tablet rather than square box shaped. That causes a little less sturdiness at the connection since it exposes a tiny bit of the metal pin portion. But definitely less bulk and weight than the Insignia brand I was using. My only real complaint is the price. With the MS name on it, it cost significantly more than the other brand. I mean should that tiny 6 inch adapter really cost $39?

Needed this part while traveling, in stock and worked perfectly and image was great. items like this can be expensive yet this one was fair. Still new and so far, so good but TBD on how long it will last.

I have been using this to project onto a wall with a projector. The quality does not take a hit at all. The same quality that our good projector projects it receives by using this adapter. I am very happy so far. It is not going to break anytime soon. It looks like it will last for quite a while.

Bought this along with my surface pro and its a no hassle adapter that I use with my surface dock. No crazy drivers or anything needed to use this.

This mini display port to HDMI adapter cable works perfectly when connecting the Surface dock to an HDMI TV monitor. It also transfers audio, along with the video signal. For some reason, it was REALLY tight trying to plug the HDMI cable into this female adapter plug, but it eventually wiggled in with some extra force.

This was exactly what I needed to in order to connect my Surface to a projector in a school room. I recently started volunteering at a local private school to teach photography and occasionally needed to project pictures on a schoolroom projector. This was what I needed!

I teach-some places won't let me hook up Chromecast to their tv. With this little connector, I can plug right into the HDMI port of their tv, and students can see what I'm doing on my laptop. Thanks to the tech woman at Best Buy who looked up what kind of connector would work with my laptop.

I needed an active Mini Display port adapter to allow for the full resolution to be used in my Mac Mini. Plugged it in and reboot my Mac mini. As the Mac mini booted the correct resolution for my new ultra-wide came on. Didn't even need to adjust any settings.

This works awesome! I’ve been working on a surface pro from home since the beginning of the pandemic and this allows me to seemlessly connect to a monitor so that I can work on spreadsheets and other things that look better on a larger screen.
