It's a decent product but you might not need it

I'm not a designer and I don't write that neatly so I don't tend to use it all that much. Having said that it is fun what it is working. Important note! It takes a weird-sized battery that you would never think even exists!!!! AAAA (NO I DIDN'T MAKE THAT UP!)

It sounds like your last Surface Pen was a previous model. This version of Surface Pen is the most recent which comes equipped with a magnetic connection for your Surface device in lieu of a clip. We hope this helps clarify.

It’s really cool with the Surface Book. But in the end, the surface book is just a $2000 whiteboard. I could just get this for a dollar at the dollar store?

Thr magnets make it easy to secure it to the pc so i dont lose it, and the latency is very small, making feel like im drawing on paper

She draws alot and it is durable for a kid her age. I'm glad she likes it to keep herself entertained with her drawing on road trips.

Pressure sensitive, consistently smooth strokes, fast with no skips. The magnetic strip to attach it to the side of my tablet makes it even more enjoyable to use.

(My tip wasn't responsive anymore and I didn't know about the replacement tips until after I bought the pen)

It's a little heavy in the hand; which can feel unnatural and is powered by a non-rechargable AAAA battery which could be off putting for some. I've used this and the Apple Pencil and I feel this pen isn't quite as natural to use. Overall I'm happy with it though, and for the price it performs as expected.
