Good Tablet, but Woefully Over Priced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MS Surface Pro is a great tablet, but its over priced. At $1000, you end up spending near $1200 after tax and after purchasing a Type Cover. The idea of using this type of form factor in the office for MS OneNote and hand written meeting notes is a GREAT idea and one I wanted for my iPad 1 when I bought it in 2010. However, even though Surface Pro can do this and do this well, it doesn't do it at a price point that is reasonable or competitive with the iPad/ iPad Mini or ANY Android tablet. Unless this is tax deductible business purchase or unless you simply HAVE to have one, I'd wait until the price drops down to about $599 before I'd consider buying one.

Great computer & tablet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted something lightweight to use to download my pictures while on vacation. It is perfect as a laptop & perfect as a tablet. I like that I can have my software editing programs installed (which I can't really do on my ipad). Everyone enjoyed using it because there are things that you can do while using this as a tablet that you just can not do on the ipad. Love, Love, Love that it has a USB port!!!

Very user friendly.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the surface to use for school. I really like the note taking feature which allows me to write notes using the stylus in Microsoft word (which I had to buy separately--it would be nice if this was included). I also enjoy using the surface to watch movies and tv shows on Netflix. One downside is the short battery life as well as the lack of apps available. Otherwise, this is a great device.

An excellent laptop replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I sold off my Apple Ipad and bought this as it is a great replacement for my work laptop which was very heavy to take back and forth. It does everything I need for work with the full office suite and Acrobat as well as other work related software. New users to Windows 8 and the touch type screen coupled with the standard Windows type structure will find some issues with changes. There are things that used to be easy that don't quite seem to work the same way. Nothing that is really detrimental; but still takes a while to do a workaround on. Overall a very satisfying laptop replacement for me.

Nice PC/Tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Surface Pro is a really nice PC/Table, the OS is easy to use, takes a little getting used the differences between Windows and finding where things are, but that is no different that any new OS. Two complaints are no CD/DVD and the fact that you must buy a keyboard and it only works with the kick stand out and only in 1 position. Other than that I am very happy with it.

Just as good as Surface Pro 2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got a great price since it is last year's model. Not much difference than the Surface Pro 2 except the 2 is 1/10" thinner. DOES NOT come with the free 200G of SkyDrive storage like the Pro 2 (although salesperson said otherwise.) Still learning Windows 8.1 and some programs not compatible. Overall, though, a great deal. Like carrying a full desktop around with you in the size of a tablet. Works well with Logitech wireless keyboard and a standard monitor, so at home it feels exactly like a desktop PC.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this after 2 IPads which I liked but constantly ran into limitations. WIth this device I can do everything I do with my desktop and more! Best surprise... using the stylus with one note. Can't tell you how many jealous looks I got from colleagues as I too flawless hand written notes in meetings.

I love the versatility. All the features I need.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a beginner with the touch screen. I do not have a smart phone. I wanted one device that I could use for everything. I love the Surface Pro. I have a tablet, a laptop, a camera, a calendar, complete filing system, notebook, screen big enough to see, and it fits in my purse. I downloaded the user guide, so if I get lost I look it up.

Great replacement for both my netbook and desktop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the perfect portable desktop. As a tablet I can use it for fast access to my movies and music, and as a hand held book reader, and portal to the internet. With a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, it becomes a remote desktop portal to my office that I can have with me wherever I go. The windows 8 or metro interface takes some time to adjust to, but with the pro version, traditional windows interface is available as I need it. As tablets go, the weight of the device makes it a little uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time, but the included stand helps avoid that.

Everything I wanted from a tablet computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already had a Surface RT, but found 2 things missing. While I like the new interface and applications offered, I wanted Microsoft Outlook to handle my business e-mail, with rules, simple calendaring and more. I also wanted Visual Studio - a traditional Windows application that needs lots of horse power. Surface Pro came to the rescue. It gives me the best of both worlds. I love the fact that I can use a pen with it as well as a finger - it was fantastic for my note taking while in meetings. I still use the modern interface for those applications that exist there and for things like Office, Outlook or Visual Studio, I'm seamlessly back in the "old" desktop. I also did not have to buy any new accessories, except one. The video port on the Surface Pro is different to Surface RT, while was annoying, however my type and touch cover keyboards work as do the microSD cards that I have. I'm very happy!

Good Tablet for productivity and play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a tablet that I could actually work on, not just do email, surf and play with pictures and video. This one has all of the Office programs that I use and it is much easier to tote around with me. The magnetic power cord is a little frustrating... you have to give the cord a twist to get it to line up and snap into place. The touch screen is responsive. I still find myself going back to the desk top view rather than messing around with the tiles. Accessory cables are over priced however, this tablet does what I need it to and I am willing to pay 40 bucks for a cable to plug it into an HDMI device.

Very Nice Tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Device is a really nice tablet. Priced a bit high for an average user tablet. Still cheaper than an iPad, plus more features, USB, MS Products, etc.

Great Alternative for a tablet or laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great choice if you are looking for a laptop, as this unit runs apps and windows programs, and everything you need to work. Battery life is not very good, so keep your charger close by. The charging port is something I have never seen before and difficult to get seated - or I may need to learn the trick. Overall I encourage you to buy one. I like it very much.

More capable than I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this expecting to be able to surf the web and create and modify Office documents. I have found that it is capable enough to not only meet those basic requirements, but I can also use video editing and CAD software; all in an extremely portable and flexible form factor.

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Surface Pro is exactly what I needed because I can run all my computer programs on a tablet platform. Having this level of access is why I purchased the Surface. I wish it had a better battery life, but I understand the limitation given this is a full i5 processor. Great purchase!

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product at sale price. Would not pay full price for it though. A bit heavy but managable. USB port is the main reason i bought this product.

Great device to do it all
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked the 128 gig up when they were on sale for $499. I was concerned about the battery life, but after using it for a few weeks, the battery life is just bit shorter then the laptop it replaces. It turns out that the battery life isn't that a big of a problem after all. Bottom line its a great device, if you know the limitations. Its a ultrabook in a tablet format and will do a great job with anything that you could possibly throw at it. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It replaces both my old ultrabook and tablet that I used before.

very nice tablet for getting things done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Happy with it so far , except it is very hard to turn on, what to much pressure has to be used, Still finding new things it can do, The email just asked if I wish to roll all my email accounts in to one place./ So, always looking for the next thing it can do,
