I've had the Surface now for about a month so still working with it in my spare time. Love the light-weight of the Surface and it's great for around the house or on the go. But Windows 8 takes some getting use it so I use my other laptop with windows 7 on it mainly for now. I do highly recommend the Surface!

Microsoft is definitely on to something here. This device does it all. I was VERY skeptical about purchasing this computer but all I can say now is that I will never go back to a limited device. I was constantly being disappointed in the limitations of Apple and Android devices. I have owned an iPad 1,3 and 4 and a Nexus 7. If you've owned any of these then you know what I'm talking about. At some point you come across something that you just can't do on these devices. Whether it's websites that don't work right, photo management or real productivity. I mentioned being skeptical earlier. I had played around with Surface's in the store and just didn't get it. I thought that Windows 8 was a mess. I just kept saying there must be something I'm missing if a company as big as Microsoft put this out then it must be well thought out. Well after owning the Surface I can say they pretty much nailed it. The user interface is so smooth and intuitive once you give it a chance. I would highly recommend giving this device a chance. You will not be disappointed.

great tablet, super easy to use, very fast, and good quality product

I've had iPad, but can't really use it all the time and find myself back on my PC. This device keeps me off the PC. Can run exe just as on my PC, so I get all the same apps, same interface, no need to go back to PC. I love it.

Even though keybord is non responsive sometimes, overall its an excellent product. The sensitivity and smoothness of it is like ipad but with better screen. Was waiting for this to come out and did not disappoint at all. Wish they would of made a removable ssd but at least it has micro sd expansion for up to 64 additional megs. Love it, get it, do it, just do it...

Great size and great that it has windows. Easy to use.

I wanted a tablet, but did not want an "i" anything, this has the features of a full-fledged PC with the feel of a tablet and ease of use. Some of the "apps" that I would like are not 100% available for the Surface, it still gives me enough to get through.

I bought this before at the original $1000 price point and returned because I could not justify the price. At the new price of $599 it was much easier to purchase and keep. The battery is not an issue for me because I am only away from power a few hours at a time. I use my ipad Air for long flights. I actually bought a power keyboard cover and returned be use I never had it unplugged long enough to actually need it. Not sure if I really need to upgrade to the Surface Pro 2.

Very much like you are carrying your entire pc in your bag. For keyboard lovers like me, it is great to have it attached and detached when not needed. For those who prefer Windows, and wants a tablet at the same time, this product is the best one for you.

Get it on sale to replace 5 year old infrequent-used home laptop, solid made product. feature wise work as good as laptop(which is indeed a pc anyway). Installed full office package, word/excel experience good. Works well with hdhomerun. Able to vpn/citrix for some occasional job related work. Used to kill some time with Steam/Civ5 as well. Battery life was indeed way far from any pad standard, not even as good as most laptop these years.

im not a review freak. I use windows for work, and I plain love the surface,,, replaced my laptop and I have my tablet for chilling on the toilet playing games and watching videos... Worth a grand to me. Only draw back is apps and games. I can predict within a couple years all windows programs will dload as apps in the marketplace. This is microsofts catch up and I think they nailed it..... Does get a little hot.. and I wish the sound was louder

The surface pro actually exceeded my expectations. Using windows 8 on a touch based device is a much better experience then standard laptops, however the legacy windows desktop experience can be madding. The screen is VERY nice, I am very pleased with it. Overall I am very happy with this purchase

Good quality product. I can print from any printer. I can save my work on a USB and transfer it to/from any computer. School, work, wherever. Something you cannot do with Apple. Just saying!

Bought when it went on sale for $490, decided to get a tablet that has 8.1 PRO. Very easy to setup, and navigate. Touchscreen is responsive, but tablet is heavy compared to other tablets and Kickstand only has one position that it can be set at. Was very easily connected to my network and joining to my server was simple. Nice little tablet, but wouldn't pay anything more for a tablet.

I got this tablet to do work while on trips. It's extremely portable, and the touch cover with kickstand makes doing full work a breeze. The Pro is thicker than the normal Surface though, but the benefit is that it runs all Windows apps.

So if you are looking for a netbook and tablet, this is the product for you. Some do not like Windows 8 but it is much more user friendly with the touch controls. Yes, this is thicker than your normal tablets but it has the ability to be a laptop as well. This means it can run all the software you are used to using on a desktop or laptop in addition to "apps". If you are looking for that flexibility this is an excellent purchase.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I use for work and home - screen res is great, fast , and easy to use.

This surface replaced a 4 year old HP Laptop. It was bought for college work. The stylus and note taking program makes it great for using in the classroom. Glad to have purchased the Pro over the RT which allows downloading of 3rd party programs. I think you'd be happy with this. We were told it rarely goes on sale, but got ours for $300 off.
