Have had my Surface for a little over a month and have no complaints. I love the size of this. After needing to carry a laptop around with me everywhere, it was a relief after i purchased my Surface. The size is also perfect for use anywhere. Love the touchscreen also.

The only possible negative thing I can say is that the sound isn't the best. This piece serves as my tablet and my laptop. It goes to classes with me to take notes then goes to lunch with me to watch movies. It's faster than laptops at a comparative price without losing any key functions.

I took a chance and bought the surface pro instead of a laptop for school and it has performed very well. I run programming software and CAD software with no trouble.

This is a great tablet. Ruggedly built and has a metal case. This tablet will take normal abuse. The worst feature is the Windows 8. Not as easy and user friendly as Windows 7. Not as many apps as Android, Microsoft should provide a better variety of apps as Android and Ipad does. Other than that I am pleased with the product and I expect it will last a long time.

This is a great tablet/computer for someone who wants to be able to be 100% productive (work-wise) while also being portable. Surface is absolutely rock-solid construction & design. Windows 8 needs some help in tablet form.

As with any computer or tablet, you need to determine what you would like to do with the device. If what you'd like to do is check e-mail, play light games like Angry Birds, have an e-reader, and surf the web, Surface Pro is overkill. If you'd like to do the above AND do the things you can do on an ultra-book or desktop pc... full Microsoft Office program suite, audio/video conversion and editing, use the PC software needed for your job or schoolwork, etc.), there's really no other option like the Surface Pro. A powerful PC in tablet form. I replaced my ipad 2 with a Surface RT when they came out. While the RT had a lot of things going for it, the screen wasn't nearly as good, you were limited to "tile" apps in the Windows store and a capable, and the RT version of Office 2013 did not include Outlook. Surface Pro offers it all: "legacy" Windows software, securely access corporate and educational networks, processing speed that equals or surpasses most ultra-books, beautiful screen, fantastic touch response, bluetooth connectivity for keyboard, mouse, etc, USB 3 port, strong wireless connection, extremely compact design. Peripherals: When you want to do "real work" you'll want the Touch Cover (or to link to a full-size bluetooth keyboard). I use a Microsoft bluetooth mouse and the Touch Cover when I'm working. The Waicom pen is nice for light mouse duties (it includes a "right click" button and eraser), for note taking, and for drawing applications. It's a true Wacom digitizer pen and works really well despite its cheap build quality compared to the Surface Pro itself. The magnetic pen holder is not real strong, so you'll want a back up plan for storing the pen. You can attach a good external usb DVD/CD reader burner for $30 or less if you need that capability. Memory: Get the 128 GB model. Even if you don't plan on using a ton of software and apps, 64GB is too small since you will have about 1/3 of that space used just in the Windows 8 Pro software. Luckily, you have a microsd card slot (the largest current size card is 64GB). You can do an online search for a few easy steps you can take to have the Surface Pro recognize your microsd card in the computer's main libraries (documents, music, pictures, etc.). You can also attach a portable usb hard drive for virtually unlimited storage potential. In "tablet" use, the Surface Pro gets slightly warm (not much warmer than my wife's ipad 3). The unique perimeter fans are essentially silent (I only heard a slight humfrom them when I was doing some strenuous audio file conversion task). I get 5 to 6 hours of battery time when I'm doing things you would typically do on an ipad. I'm not bothered by the additional 8 ounces the Pro has over the RT or latest ipad. For "work" use, the kickstand is fantastic. You can set up at a table or other flat top and get some serious work done. It's also nice for setting on a table to read or watch a movie. The Surface Pro is not really designed for you to do a ton of keyboarding with it sitting in your lap as some people like to do with a standard laptop. That said, it doesn't weight three pounds, fits easily into small tote, and converts into a comfortable tablet in the time it takes to snap off the Touch Cover. The keyboard that pops up when in tablet mode is easy to use (I think easier than even the ipad's) and is fine for tablet tasks. The Surface Pro does everything I need and more. No regrets, highest of recommendations.

    Very Different Experience

I jumped from XP to Windows 8 and there's quite a large difference obviously. It is fun to use but the app store is pretty sparse and a lot of websites aren't touch friendly enough so the keyboard with touchpad is a must. Overall it is a good experience. The Surface Pro is a bit on the heavy side, but that's expected considering it is a PC replacement. Only having one setting for the kickstand is a nuisance. The angle seems best for lying on the couch.

This tablet laptop desktop 3-1 that's why it cost so much and it's not in the same level as an iPad people that compare it to that are ignorant users so if your looking for something like latop or desktop I would go with surface pro the icore 5 is pretty awesome if your looking something with apps only then get iPad I return mine because I have computer so don't really need this 3-1 product I'm sticking with iPad

Having used quite a few different tablets this one appears to exceed my expectations. It has all the features that you would expect from a tablet and the attachable keyboard is an added bonus. These tablets do tend to get hot quite quickly so they may not be the best to use on a vehicle platform. Not having a full version of windows office is a letdown, but was quickly remedied. This has a fantastic sound for those that need a louder tablet.

I do love this little computer/ tablet! Bought it for business meetings and travel-- so easy to stick into purse, starts up like lightening. Beautiful display. I am a middle aged female non- computer geek and have learned this in a breeze. Didn't like the price after keyboard and adapter and screen protector and a case added... But I have loved carrying it and using it. Battery life very short at 4 hours.

Handles programs very well, love the I5 processor. Great screen resolution. I use the type keyboard, just wish they had separated the mouse button from the pad. Many times I just use a Bluetooth mouse. Am learning W8 which works ok, just need to figure out how to do all I need using some of the new apps. I would buy this again.

Since I was replacing a laptop and a tablet, this machine made perfect sense for me. It's a litttle more expensive than a tablet, a little more expensive then a low end laptop, but well below the cost of both combined. It's a great item unless you;re going to do a lot of number crunching in Excel because of the screen size, but if you;re aware of that "flaw" and it fits your lifestyle, I highly recommend the Surface Pro

Works great with my art programs, like sketchbook pro. Stylus is very accurate and responsive. Pretty much an awesome mini laptop. Battery life was good enough for my use, I usually have it plugged in when I'm drawing on it tho.

I use this to edit photographs on the fly. Works great. Had to exchange for new unit, however, due to light bleeding in lower corner. BBY exchanged without an issue. Get the 128 gb versIon. The OS takes up a good chunk of space.

I am a teacher who has a school provided laptop in the classroom. I needed something that could easily go back and forth from home to work, take notes at meetings, as well as set up on my desk. This fits the bill! I can even fit it into my regular purse. Loving it....

I bought this to use as a work computer, I use it for some CAD designing and it runs great. Obviously, the touch isn't very helpful for the cad, I have a mouse, but is great for everyday use. I wanted to be able to design whole on plane rides and whatnot, but the battery dies at about 4 hours of use whereas good ultrabooks will last 5.5 hours easily

I'm in IT and this has been a great purchase. I love how easy it is to use. After taking the time to get to know Windows 8 properly, I never looked back. Upgraded my home PC to Windows 8 also and got a Windows Phone 8. Everything I need or want is now assessable from any device I have with SkyDrive. So this is the new Microsoft... Look out Apple, you're nice and shiny but when people want to get some serious work or play done, you can't beat the Surface-Pro. Within a week of buying mine, 5 co-workers went and bought one.
