Extremely happy I choose this product.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with my purchase. So much that I couldn't wait until the Pro 4 was out. So I got this one anyway. Will be upgrading to the Pro 3 upon release.

great for college
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is portable and efficient. However, it seem that there are still some difficulties with this that have not been fixed. I did have to return my initial purchase, but received a new product immediately, and it has functioned perfectly.

Definite learning curve (windows 8; apps)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Windows 8 needs a book (Nook book by Pogue, Missing Manual was very helpful to me); The store to shop for other apps is really screwy. Still have not been able to get similar apps for what I use on iPad and iPhone onto the new tiles ... no good category for several apps I use all the time for work ... needs a good old fashioned "search" menu under the store shopping tile to find apps use personally and for business.

Great for taking notes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my surface pro about 2 weeks ago now no real complaints. Battery life I got 5.5 hours of straight Netflix movie streaming, around 6 hours of straight note taking on one note, and around 3 hours when using high powered windows applications. I mainly got the tablet for note taking In class and for e books. Only complaint there is the screen does get a little warm the touch after taking notes for an hour but not hot enough to burn you or anything. The other complaint is that the hand writing software can't convert math equations into text that would be wonderfull. But as for one note the ability to swich back and form from keyboard to pen fast it helpfully and switching to and from no lines, lined paper and gridded line it helpful when you need to graph. Another's thing to consider is the camra has no zoom on it and my iPhone 4S takes better pitches (oh well did not buy it for the camra) I am going to try MATLAB on it soon to see how it handles it but I reckon that it should be fine (will update with how it does if I can remember). I have badly used the type keyboard since I have got it I tend to just use the handwriting recognition. The charger is also nice it has a magnetic plug so there is no pins to break off from plugging and unplugging so much. The charger also has a USB port on it so that you can charge let's say your phone with just the data cable.

Better than iPad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet is way better than my iPad. This table beats iPad when it comes to features and is more user friendly than iPad. I just love this tablet!

Simply love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially bought the Surface because it seemed practical. Now I simply love it. The screen resolution is fantastic, it's really fast and it allows you to completely ditch your laptop. It's the best of both worlds - a tablet and a laptop in one.

Fully functional computer in tablet form
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great for business, I can generate a document, have the client sign it and send it off for processing all without printing and within minutes. it has my full office suite on it and, though it doesn't like it, will accept Google Chrome and other third party software. The stylus really needs work when you calibrate it it works just fine for about 2 minutes. I have had the stylus be off by over half an inch at times this is frustrating to the extreme given the small size of the screen. The camera is horrible Microsoft has taken 2013 technology and shoved a 1980s pixelated camera into it. That being that being said if you spend the ungodly amount of hundred thirty dollars for the keyboard most of the problems can be taken care of except for of course the camera... thank the Lord for the high quality cameras in almost all of our cell phones.

Great Tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really enjoying this tablet! I love having the Microsoft suite to use and it is really easy to figure out! The battery life could be a little longer but overall I love it and would recommend it to anyone!

Bravo Microsoft! Windows 8.1 eases XP withdrawal !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since I needed to replace my XP-based Netbook, I did a lot of research. This was the ONLY Tablet having all the features I wanted: a USB port; the latest version of Windows; and the ability to use my older version of M.S. Office. I was initially unhappy, but the upgrade to Windows 8.1 made a HUGE difference! P.S.: My version of Office? It's Office 2000 (aka Y2K) Pro!!!

Excellent PC / Tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Build quality is excellent and makes other tablets look/feel cheap. Extremely versatile, and Windows 8 is way easier to use than some people pontificate about. I use the mini display port adapter and frequently use this as a full-blown desktop connected to a 47" flat panel HDTV. Not the cheapest device out there, but it is exactly what I was looking for. Well done Microsoft!

I am giving my ipad to my 6yr old. Surface Rocks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used it for a couple months now and I love it. I use it in split screen a lot in the office and I use it as a pad on the go. I have owned a few ipads and I will never buy another after now owning this Surface Pro. The memory is not an issue because I save everything to the sky drive anyway.

More possibilities
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its has more features and more possibilities than other tablets. I can install anything. I can make it a laptop or at the same time use it as laptop. It is little heavier though.

Best tablet laptop hybrid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im a student and I use it everyday. Some might think the surface pro 2 is better but the pro 1 and pro 2 are virtually the same except for a few things: battery life, speed, and stand. If you can deal with 5 hours of battery life, SLIGHTLY slower speed, and a kick stand the pro 1 is a steal

Can handle any task your suitcase of a laptop can.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note to the users looking for a tablet... THIS IS NOT A TABLET! If you are looking for a tablet.. get an iPAD! I'm very happy with the Surface Pro, Runs all the applications I need to support end users on the go. Very happy with my purchase.

Very good tablet/laptop hybrid system. Fun to use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a hybrid between laptop and tablet. The design is very successful. The machine is stable and works well. I am assuming as next generations of this device enter market, issues with weight and battery life will gradually be resolved.

Excellent versatile tool for work and home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great tool for work. The ability to use the MS Office Products on an application that is easily portable has been invaluable. I also use this at home for video streaming, music, and reading. It is very easy to download the needed apps - and once I got used to Windows 8 it quickly made all other technology in my house and office seem more cumbersome.

Not worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tablet in my search for a powerful, portable laptop replacement. I specifically wanted to run Lightroom 4 for photo editing. I bought this tablet because a friend who is an information systems professional mentioned this was the best he had seen. I suppose it is all subjective to what you would use it for. I found Windows 8 to be fast but incompatible with my life that is built around android and Google. Also legacy programs such as Lightroom run in desktop mode and are not really scalable. It made using that program almost impossible. Overall, it was a neat and powerful toy, but was nowhere near worth the thousands bucks I spent on it. I took it back and I ended up with a Galaxy Note 10.1 and absolutely love it. An extra $15 of adapters and apps and I can edit my RAW files too! Unless you have a life built around Microsoft products I would suggest you steer clear.
