At first I had the Surface RT which I returned after recognizing its limitations. I got the Surface Pro instead and it is literally a mini computer.Great features and screen display. My only dislike is the battery runs down quite fast and up to now I don't know if there is any way to know when it has charged to 100% otherwise I am satisfied with the Surface Pro

This is basically a powerhouse of a laptop trapped in a tablet's body. So you do have the tradeoff of battery life (5.5hrs is the best I could get), for its small body. If your thinking about getting it, stop thinking and make the purchase... You wont regret it!!!

I expect to own and use this unit for a long, long time because I don't think they can make it any better! It competes with everything that my office or laptop computer provides and seems to be faster in most cases.

Overall I'm very pleased. It's easy to use, very quick and is versatile. Once you pick up how Windows 8 operates you'll never go back. I can't imagine going back to an iPad after using this. The camera on this unit really sucks though. It's extremely low quality (1megapixal....) I mean why even put a camera in it if you are going to use such a low quality one. It's well worth the money though, I use it all the time and it never fails me!

I love the Surface Pro! I have been using Apple products for the last five years or so. I bought one of these on a recommendation from a friend. Awesome product. Only shortcoming is really the magnetic power cord is difficult to line up and battery life is so so.

Impressive. ipads/Androids are great for web-surfing, email and home multimedia. Surface Pro adds the rest. Needs a bit of dedication to get past the (inevitably schizophrenic) W8's learning curve, but not so hard. My 3 year old grand-daughter gets it. Especially painting! Move files on and off in new or old ways. Price, battery life, weight and heat will get fixed. Think transition device. Meanwhile compare to laptop plus ipad/Android tab. Unexpected huge bonus - handwriting works, goodbye to more paper.

The "Ease of use" rating of average is due to my inability to learn the new Windows 8. Eventually, I'll get used to it, but change at my age takes a bit longer. The USB port makes this tablet more like a laptop without the extra weight which is excellent for the business traveler.

When I bought 2 of these for staff we were looking for a replacement for the Ipad toys everyone was using here. The fact that we have full computing (MSOffice, etc.) capability along with various entertainment features is a real plus. The hard drive is screaming fast and the screen quality is excellent for our needs.

Worth buying the Surface Pro--I can do EVERYTHING I usually do on desktop computer! No longer need to leave living room when I'm shopping/searching things and go to my office to finish something because of iPad/website compatibility or formatting issues. It's a desktop computer with all the convenience of a tablet.

I was looking to replace my huge laptop and this product serves as a perfect alternative. It has all the capabilities of a laptop with the convenience of a tablet. Would recommend it to people who are transitioning from primary laptop use to a more portable device.

Bought this for my girlfriend, an artist, because it uses a Wacom digitizer. She still uses it regularly to do digital painting, but it definitely took a lot of tweaking to get the digitizer settings to be suitable for art. The default pressure sensitivity is ridiculously non-linear, and the digitizer is probably a quarter of an inch misaligned in the corners. No amount of manual tweaking was able to fix that, so it's still a challenge for me to use the pen on menus. She's gotten used to the offset so she knows where to click. Other issues: fan spins a lot, and it's noisy. The surface 2 got better power management, but lost the wacom digitizer. The new digitizer doesn't work with Photoshop CS5 or lower, where the surface 1 does. Doesn't hibernate when plugged in, even though the power settings are set to. Will hibernate when it's not plugged in, but won't if you unplug it when it's asleep. That means if you use it unplugged, it'll be fine, but if you had it charging and unplug it and take it with you, it'll probably be dead when you turn it on.

I bought this for my real estate and property management businesses and it is very easy to use. Light weight enough for me with all the features and storage I need. Tired of dragging around my 4 year old laptop. Needed this to run remodeling programs on the run.

I LOVE THIS THING. The Surface Pro is the coolest computer I have ever used. It is a fun tablet for games and consuming media like movies and music. Plus it is fully integrated into my work network file system and has all of the full-function Office programs I need to work. It is crazy convenient to have all of that in light weight tablet.

This is a great computer. It's not a tablet. It's got some tablet like features, but first and foremost it's a computer. Set this thing on a desk with the keyboard and a mouse and it's as good as any laptop. Hook it up to an external display and it's a desktop replacement. As a computer it shines. What sets it apart is that it can also do some light tablet duties. It doesn't do the tablet thing as well as an ipad or even a nexus 7, but those aren't also full computers. This is.

in my 4th week and I am now 100% on this device. I travel a lot.. and this was a good replacement for a full size laptop, Ipad/tablet. has the tablet things we all like (media/movies), but also runs all office - including 20MB excel/pivot table used to track months worth of transactions. Can connect to full size monitor / kdb when in the office. Im finally down to one location/device for everything.
