Amazing laptop for people on the go. Love the mix of laptop and tablet, neither side giving up much in the way of function.

I love this tablet. I got it primarily for work. I needed a mobile work station because I am on the go. This tablet is perfect for that. Straight out of the box it performed extremely well. Very little set up.

Considered the Surface and the iPad and decided to go with the Surface because of it's Windows features, internal hard drive and usb port.

The only thing negative about the surface pro is the price. U really need add on like touch keyboard...etc. but if u can afford it buy it!

Love the tablet and its great to take on jobsites due to its compact size.

This is my first Windows 8 product. I have only had it about 1.5 months. I am on a steep learning curve because if Win 8. I bought it primarily for personal use, but also because it is essentially a small compute that I could work on for business while I am out of the office. If this had a Windows 7 operating system, or if I was proficient with Windows 8 (is anyone?), it would be the tablet of my dreams.

The first gen surface pros are a very good concept, but the product needs to be refined. Short battery life and heavy weight deter long use.

I had been debating for a long time between an iPad Air and the Surface Pro, primarily the decision was made due to a great sale on the first generation Pros, and I couldn't be happier (despite Windows 8).

I love this thing more than I thought I would. I use it all the time and find that it can do anything I want it too. I find myself choosing my Surface over my laptop when traveling because its so light weight yet I don't have to compromise on power. Windows 8 is awesome if you have a touchscreen and makes for a great experience. Build quality is amazing for a first gen device. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Love the fact that it comes with a full blown version of Windows 8. However the price is a little high for me especially having to add the external keyboard which for me is almost a must. Overall great tablet and love it so far.

This is the best and most versatile tablet / computer I have ever owned. I have a Transformer Prime tablet and a Sony VAIO computer and the Surface Pro has replaced them both and out preforms them both.

Well I've had (and thoroughly enjoyed) two ASUS Android tablets (TF101 and TF201), but was wishing for a Windows tablet and this is IT! I've been a Windows user since Win 1.0 so the Surface Pro's look and feel is much more attuned to my expectations without having to learn a new operating system, though to be sure Win 8 has its own learning curve, certainly shorter than Android's. I highly recommend this Surface Pro, although I understand that Surface Pro 2 is not too far off.

This laptop combo is light and mobile. I'm enjoying discovering what it can do that a laptop or tablet can't do alone. I wish it had come with windows 8.1 loaded, but I do appreciate that I was able to update it for free.

I would definitely recommend this product to others. I do wish I had spent the extra money for the Surface Pro 2 in order to get a longer battery life.

I've owned many laptops and after the Surface Pro, i don't miss them. as a tablet, it is fine. the short battery life does take away from its usefulness but as a laptop for work and play, its amazing

This item is an excellent, powerful tablet that will double as a laptop. As far as tablets go, the battery life could be better, but it is understandable given the computing power. Will run anything.

Got this to cut down my travel weight and leave my laptop at home. I have used iPad in the past, but sometime need more than just email on the road... The opportunity to get this Win 8 machine at a very good price (since Surface Pro 2 is available) has been well worth it for me. I find that I throw this in my briefcase often just to have a computer handy when I am out-and-about. I'm using it quite a bit more than I anticipated when I bought it. AND the graphics tablet built-in (by Wacom) that can be used with the stylus works really well -- I have made several educreation videos using it and really prefer it over other tablet-stylus combinations. Battery life is not a problem for me thus far.

For all traveling I do this fits my requirements for ease. Needs to improve the battery life. Overall excellent job!

Very happy with this product. Solid, satisfactory battery life and great having full windows (and Office) in the tablet form factor. I've been using mine at home on the network, and mobile while tethered through my phone. Will most likely buy a second Surface when they ship with the Haswell chips!

The whole family loves to use the Surface. It is easy to take on the go and great for when you are watching TV but need to do some work on a computer.
