Overall, this product has everything I would want in a laptop. The accessories are a bit pricey, but having a USB drive in a tablet makes it worth it.

This item is easy to use and convenient for travel. I use it in conjunction with my other laptops but it could be a stand alone for sure Great item.

I have an ipad and I use to work with it during meetings, but just wasn't able to do everything you need with a computer. The Surface works just like a laptop, but compact like a tablet. The ipad is good for games and apps, but the Surface is good for everything.

OK if you want to use Adobe Flash on-the-go

Purchased as a replacement for an iPad 3 because Surface gives me the opportunity to use Flash, which is not possible with IPad. The trade-offs aren't worth it in my opinion. The stand puts the screen too vertical, so it's no use if you want to use the touch screen capabilities. No good for typing. You need to buy the keyboard, or sit the Surface on your lap, or table. You have to be careful when you switch the unit off. It tends to turn itself back on, use battery and get VERY hot. I mean "fry an egg" hot. The lack of on board 4G/LTE is a big pain. You need a mobile hotspot device and the process of getting that out, starting it, then staring the Surface and connecting is so labor intensive, my iPads are falling are iPeeing themselves with laughter. Plus you have to have a 2-yr agreement for the hotspot and you pay for data AND access. They don't tell you that in the store. All-in-all, I am hard pressed to accept that I made the right decision to move away from iPad to this device. I don't think there are enough reasons to have this. Even though it runs Windows 8 and MS Office. You are no better off with this over a small laptop, which is WAY cheaper and comes with a keyboard. I'm going to give this to my daughter and go back to iPad. Expensive experiment for me. Now...put it back on the display, gently and go look at something else.

This is a great tablet. It was easy to set-up and easy to use. It's like having a regular tower computer in the palm of your hand.

A little pricey, but it is well worth the money to have a full version of windows in a tablet. The speed and screen are also awesome.

This is the first time I have ever bought myself something so sophisticated. The Surfer is like a mini laptop or like a tablet with a camera and all pc capabilities all in one . I love it.

This is a well designed combination of tablet and computer provided that one of the first things you do is upgrade to Windows 8.1 (free). It would be helpful to have at least a short manual to help you with the basics of how to operate this system when you were used to operate with a mouse. There is an internal help system but you have to find out by trial and error how to ask the right questions and what terminology to use. Be prepared to spend quite some time to learn how to use this system but once you are used to it, it works very well.

I needed a new laptop and needed to be able to install programs from my old laptop on it (like Photoshop). A tablet wouldn't cut it, but I wanted the convenience of a tablet. This fits the bill. It takes some getting used to, but overall I am very pleased with this purchase. It was more expensive than either the tablet or laptops I was looking at, but since it really fills the role of both, it was worth it.

Very good alternative to a laptop, especially for travel. Was reluctant as I traveled with an iPad previously. Now I only take the surface.

I'm using for business travel, and am very happy. There are some Windows 8 compatibility issues, which will work out in time. Not the Surface Pros problem. Glad I bought. The Surface RT charger is a great add on for travel. Needs a way to lock stand.
