Almost a perfect product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.wow, if 128gb ipad is that expensive why don't you just get a real computer which is still so easy to use. I like windows8 very much for now. it's not confuse at all I think. the screen is perfect ,when I use sketch pro to draw, everything just get perfect, it can response to your pressure and just draw like on a paper. battery life is fine, but I plan to buy a extend battery when it comes out. but good for now. one tips, dont set other internet browser as your default browser, because if you do that , the metro version IE just gone. but you can get it back by set IE as your default browser again... I dont regret to sell my ipad and buy this because compare to this surface pro, ipad is almost useless , because I just use that when I was in bathroom lol. I am serious.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Surface Pro! It has taken me awhile to get used to Windows 8...but that would be the case wherever I first started using it. I love the fact that it's for work and play...I can read/reply to work emails, review Excel spreadsheets (and write my notes onscreen) and then take it to the gym or ballgame to record videos of my kids' activities...or sit and play games. I have really enjoyed the device, but Windows 8 has not been that intuitive...it took awhile just to figure out how to power down. It is a little heavy, but compared to carrying a laptop around, it's wonderful. I doubt my home laptop will get much use anymore, this is just so handy and can do almost anything. I looked at the iPads, but I wanted something I could actually "work" on, not just another entertainment device...and I found it!

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No doubt about this is a great product. You can write on word, pdf, etc with stylus pen. Fast start up and shut down. Only thing I don't like with this product is short battery life. On the other hand, power cover will be available early next year and may solve the issue. I strongly recommend this product for everyone especially looking for a tablet for your business. I pad is great but not for the business use.

Great tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs everything, Plenty fast enough, USB 3 port is great. The screen is responsive and looks good. The sound from the built in speakers could be louder. Overall, I do think this is a great portable computer…

Works for my purposes!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great for what I use it for. I am not a gamer and do not download a ton of music. I am more of a photo person. I do digital scrapbooking on my computer. This tablet/computer is overall a great product. It was easy to setup and easy to use after I figured it out. The operating system is very different from what we are used to with Windows 7 and older. However, you can still get a similar desktop to display if it helps. Also, if you know something exists on the older operating system, you will be able to find it on this one with a little playing around. The only disadvantages to this computer is the weight is a bit much for a tablet and the screen is a little small for digital scrapbooking software programs. I wouldn't recommend this if you are a student in college trying to do homework and such on it. It just isn't big enough. If you do more tablet stuff and just need a little bit of a computer, go for it. I will still need my larger laptop for scrapbooking but can use this for everything else.

A comprehensive tablet computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is nearly a perfect device. Not only is it a superb touch tablet, but the fact that it supports the full Windows 8 desktop experience makes this device a no-brainer for those who want something more than just a "novelty". The caliber and quality of the IPS display is stunning. Add to this the real killer feature is the active stylus pen - sure, it works just fine for note taking or quick diagramming/marking up documents, but it also performs as a true artist's tool when used with Photoshop or Corel Painter since it supports pressure sensitivity. Regarding Windows 8, I really don't get all this nonsense about the "missing Start Menu" - it's there, but it is on steroids now as it supports not just "single lines of text" to launch programs, but live tiles that actually can display meaningful status and notifications of those programs. It's brilliant, balances aesthetics and simplicity with function, without being fussy and over complicated like the Android launcher/Widget system.

Is a great device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the only problem is the battery but I don't complain to much because have to power an I5, and yes is a bit expensive but is better than a ultra book. I recommend the surface over the current ultra books in the market.

A superior prodct
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is better than the reviewers stated on the geek sites... most were very good reviews but all held back on how awesome this surface pro really is! I looked very hard at other products but I kept coming back to the Surface, I always like a deal so I tried to convince myself to consider less expensive option (yoga was a close second). The heck with a deal I'm going big! I decided to move with my choice and I am so glad that I did.... I'm so impressed with the Surface as far ease of use, how fast and crisp the system is... very cool! I wanted the ease of tablet but needed to run a few heavy programs now then so I needed both worlds and I found it in the Surface. I teach a local university and I'm also working on my PhD and the Surface is the ultimate tool for me!

It runs Office, how great is that!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this new tablet. I have bought several different tablets and returned them, including the IPad. I decided to wait on the Surface Pro 128GB and I am glad I did. It is a real working tablet with speed. The Office capability in a small package is fantastic. Great for the business user with enough apps for entertainment as well. I gave the 4 on "ease of use" only because I am learning Windows 8 as I use it. So that's more of an overall learning curve score with Windows 8.

The only tablet that can replace a full computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those looking to jump into the tablet generation but keep all of the abilities of a traditional computer, the Surface Pro is the only tablet that can function as both. By getting the full edition of Windows, users can use the tablet for business, home, or recreation. Although this particular edition of the surface comes with Windows 8.0, people can save about $400 with the original pro instead of getting the second generation, since there are very little differences between them, none of which would make people feel like they're missing out by getting the first generation over the second.

1st Practical Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st off, I am not a fan of Windows 8 for the desktop alone; but this "tablet" gives you a better understanding of why Windows 8 is the way it is. This tablet is heavier and thicker than it's competitors but it also has the feeling of quality. I still am not a big fan of Windows 8 but have become more of a fan since using this tablet not only as a tablet but a functional laptop and a very nice desktop when connected to a "docking station". I will never go back to a laptop because of this fantastic all around computer. Some people have an issue with the 128 gig hard drive, but I have 80+ gig free after installing office and a flurry of other apps. I am not saying that this is perfect, however, the Surface Pro is a great tablet, laptop & desktop all in one... I love it!

Graphic Artists Dream Machine!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This should be on every graphic designer, digital artists and people who love drawing/painting wish list! The stylus is Wacom supported which means your going to get the best drawing quality out of your Surface Pro and plays well with Manga Studio, Sketch Book Pro, ArtRage, Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6! A few downsides: Battery life, shape is a bit awkward but the kickstand helps, and display could be a bit larger, but so far best device for any artist!

THIS THING IS AMAZING -TECH GAMER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tablet pc not really looking in to it (bought it for my wife to use for school) it was on the shelf and she said she wanted it so we got it. Little did she or I know that it would soon be my new toy haha. I can't get over the portability, SPEED, light weight, ABILITY TO PLAY REAL GAMES (wow, d3, cod), sleek look on my night stand, the futuristic features and did I mention sheer power. This is the future and Microsoft Windows is on top.

Despite Neg Reviews over internet it's superb
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought my first SURFACE PRO 128 Upon release (Feb 9, 2013). Well made, impressive booting time, great graphics. Before I bought it, did lots of research. Saw many so called "experts" either comparing it with the wrong device or downplaying it. I read the comments to the reviews, looked at the specs, toyed with the RT version and the DEMO PRO 64, and was fascinated. The reviews were quite unfounded and biased towards the iPad or the MacBook Air. No comparison, three different items! Also after I bought my first one, continued with my research and checking the actual buyer's reviews. My opinion is that I take an user/buyer's review before I take a so called expert's review. The user only cares about the product the experts can sure spin their reviews! Such is life and CAPITALISM. Although someone said that a lie when said too many times, becomes the truth; in this day and age we can do our homework by ourselves and question what we reed and draw from our experience in order to be able to make a an informed decision with a clear mind and sound judgment regardless the spin given to it by the biased reviews. To finish this, I consider it's money well spent, to those that say it's too expensive, make the comparison between price and specs, and you can see that features and quality do cost. Small HDD??? Size is not everything! You can always use a micro sdxc card and a usb hub with a couple of USB Flash drives if you really need the extra space. There's always a way around things. I am so satisfied with the product that not only bought one for my wife yesterday for her birthday, but also helped a lost soul to make his decision and also purchase one. This is a well made product, made to last and in the short run, it will pay by itself.

awesome tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own an older laptop that installed Win8 on, as well as a Lenovo Yoga 13, but this one blows both of those out of the water. The type cover is a must (didn't get the touch cover 2, like I wanted, because they weren't stocked by my local best buy, but the type cover 2 w/ the backlit keyboard is great). All I need now is the power cover, and maybe the dock, and this thing would be perfect. Also, a USB hub is a must.

Terrific laptop replacement for business traveler!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this for two months now as my primary computer replacement (both desktop and laptop# for both business and personal use and it has been amazing! Using OneNote and syncing with my work office computer is great especially for taking notes with the included stylus #I've read over 1004 degrees pressure allow very pen like response#. Turn it over and its a virtual eraser as well. It's also good for all other business activity like PowerPoint #and I got a generic MiniDisplayPort to HDMI and MiniDisplayPort to VGA and both work great for hooking up to TVs, projectors and monitors for presentations and streaming videos, pictures and games. Heck, I rediscovered Steam and have been gaming up a storm with this thing (works great with Xbox 360 Controllers!!). Anyway, it's been terrific. Just make sure to get the typecover if you want to do serious work, not the touchcover. I really like the MS Wedge Mouse as well if you're going to do a lot of work on it. Highly recommended!

Great Tablet, for business or personal use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Screen resolution is excellent and the speed is extremely fast. There appears to be no bugs. All windows programs works great, wifi is better than any tablets scene so far. Video play back is extremely good quality, I do not believe there is any tablet that can beat this tablets resolution. Keeps a charge for good amount of time. I like the magnetic attachments with the stylus and keyboard and the AC charger, nice touch.

great for buisness trip
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.pros: 1) light weight which makes it great for traveling 2) 2 in 1 product (laptop and tablet pc) so great for money value 3) cool features, especially I love how it can convert my handwritings in to document 4) great screen and sound quality for its size 5) responsive touch screen; everyone who have used touch screen will know how annoying they can be. I haven't had problem with it so far. cons: 1)had to purchase separate accessory to hook up the laptop to screen projector for presentation 2)price; it is quite expensive but what can I say...you get what you pay for 3) quite delicate; because of how light weight and small it is, it worries me how durable it would be 4) It took me a while to get use to how things are set up overall) great gadget for people who travel a lot. it is a splurge item but it is definitely worth every penny:)
